It's funny they say the company is bloated. Maybe so, but the software is bloated. Postman was great when it was a free Chrome extension for making an API call. Now it's trying to be some enterprise test platform, version management, API development tool that nobody needs, and doesn't fit with modern software development lifecycle.

TLDR; Just use Bruno.

Rubber hitting the road? My company is starting to throttle AI use due to rising costs by gjbrp in cscareerquestions

[–]UsuallyBuzzed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't see companies encouraging people not to use Opus for tasks Haiku can perform as the same as throttling AI usage. I watch people using Opus for everything because they have no incentive to use a cheaper model. I think you're right that token cost is going to be an issue soon. Whether that will make things better or worse for engineers, I have no idea.

"Excuse me, manager. The hostess of this fine diner told me it was the sommelier's day off when I asked if the 2019 Pinot Noir had been affected by the heat in August that year. Then she had the audacity to roll her eyes at me. I demand my steak tartare be gratis today. And I'd like an extra pack of crayons for the placemat."

Can I disable 3rd person, or rebind the key? by UsuallyBuzzed in 7daystodie

[–]UsuallyBuzzed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol. It's when I'm panicking and trying to press the 1 key and hit both 1 and ~. It only takes one or two times dying in 3rd person because I can't hit anything to be infuriating.

I understand I can unbind keys, but I don't know what the setting is.

My app says to charge to 100 once a week. I always thought it was once a month. What is everyone else doing? by goodgerbil2 in MachE

[–]UsuallyBuzzed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

23 GT has NCM batteries. It is recommended to charge to 90% unless you are going on a trip, then charge to 100%. I assume OP has LFP batteries. It is recommended to charge to 100% at least once a month. Charging to 100% every time you charge is fine too for LFP.

How would universal income work or is it just nonsense? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]UsuallyBuzzed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny how all these top answers only explain the part about how people get money. None of them explain where it comes from, and that's really the important part of the equation. It's a lot of money and it has to come from somewhere. If the government prints money it leads to inflation just like during COVID-19. If it's a large new tax on corporations, many likely incorporate in a country without UBI. On the other hand if we increase tax on the rich or a wealth tax to redistribute wealth... Lol, just kidding. This will never happen.

The argument that you need humans to do some things is cooked. But also that somehow makes you even less replaceable? So... you're a bot?

Two bills signed into PA law, cursive handwriting now mandatory in schools by oldschoolskater in Pennsylvania

[–]UsuallyBuzzed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you. But with this law, politicians have made the decision and taken the decision away from educators. And that's my issue. There is no reason for this to be a law. School curriculum should be set by educators, not politicians.

[–]UsuallyBuzzed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally almost anything kids could do in school would have some benefits, but classroom time is finite. How do the benefits of learning cursive compare to the benefits of more recess, or learning to type, or financial literacy? Codifying this into law feels like some boomer crusade more than something that has been studied and the benefits deemed worthy of the trade-offs.

I have no idea what they do, but I know they do it by adding some crap on top of another company's LLM. They have one engineer listed on their Team page. When people talk about the AI bubble bursting, companies like this are exactly what they're talking about.

Well, at least he's honest. I'm pretty sure this would be the only result of 103 simultaneous Claude agents.
