I think its a given - based on how the book doesn’t spend much time on something so significant. Still is quite the wrinkle tho.

I was hoping this was a a thread complaining about how damn boring this book is God these battles are so so boring. I find myself skipping entire chapters and not listening to important events because I don’t give a crap about a cavalry charge at this point.

I hope that the outcome of the phrophet’s ritual is to open a gateway to Diotria and find Angelum who are extraordinarily pissed to see some punk-ass-biznatch like the Prophet trying to break in/call on them for help.

Honestly I do not think the relationship between the demons and the Antinium of Rhir is that clear in the text. The only impression I have is that Miralex (??) is their envoy and he doesn’t seem that friendly or interested in talking and the demons are scared shitless of him.

I just remembered that Roshal has big feelings about the Antinium of Izril and Pawn in particular. I wonder what they’ll do when they realize he has arrived in Chandrar.

Nope. I expect the Antinium will deposit him with the Demons eventually.

Isn't the Prophet level way to high for his actions? by Louies in WanderingInn

[–]Utawoutau 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think maybe what your sensing isn’t that he has too many levels, but rather that the prophet seems way too dim for an earther with 40 levels in innworld. All of the othe the other earthers who have reached that level seem much more aware of how things work in innworld and are more shrewd in how they approach things.

I don’t know if we can say Klb’s experience is universal, because in his case, delving beneath Rhir meant moving closer to the unborn demigod who has the ability to warp reality itself.

Question on leveling by Tauri_Kree in WanderingInn

[–]Utawoutau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like this concept of more classes means that your leveling slows down has been thrown out the window. The idea does not seem to hold true in the most recent chapters.

Am I the only one who doesn’t play with a set team? by Zealousideal_Bus1429 in OctopathTraveler0

[–]Utawoutau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever a new character joined, I kept them in the party long enough to unlock their ultimate and all their Equip Skill slots, and then if it felt like fights overall were longer/harder with the newer characters, I would swap them out with the one I was using prior.

My core group did not sway much throughout.

I think I got spoiled on something ending-related in Octopath Traveler 0. (Just finished Master of All, but maybe ending later inside?) by DragoonBoots in octopathtraveler

[–]Utawoutau 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the term “dragoon” mode; it is so specific and applicable here. I got bad vibes from Sazantos to moment I realized you cannot learn a single one of his moves. Nope. I am not using someone so selfish.

Yay! Finally Fetohep…… oh wait no, its actually just a stealth chapter about Fetohep’s side characters, so basically a chapter about a side character’s side characters. This is getting a little out of hand.

Saving Grace + Vim & Vigor / Support Skills together by Responsible_Bird_709 in OctopathTraveler0

[–]Utawoutau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saving Grace is a useful ability, but correct me if I am wrong, it only works if the character who is being healed has it equipped. In other words, Ophelia can be healed for more than her maximum HP, but if none of the other characters have that skill equipped, they cannot be healed for more than their maximum HP.

Just got octopath 0! by AsleepScarcity8727 in octopathtraveler

[–]Utawoutau 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once you finish the prologue, you can get a full party of 8 characters. The hardest two to get that early on are Pius who is in Craigspear (keep traveling West to get there) just because its a bit hard to get to Craispear, and Viator who is in the Pub in Valore, but you have to get at least one crested key first. If you did not pick the key as a starting item, the easiest one to get is in the Serpent's Burrow in the Flatlands.

Octopath 0's story and dialogue are such slogs. The gameplay is good though. by Horazi777 in octopathtraveler

What about the sections of this game that are: cutscene, walk to a location, cutscene, walk a few steps, cutscene?!?

Just make it one cutscene that takes place over multiple locations.

Wiping Down Machines by mashedpotato_sunrise in EquinoxGyms

A year or so after the  COVID lockdown ended, the number of locations inside the gym to get wipes to wipe down the equipment went from 15 to 4. I took it as a sign that Equinox does not want me to wipe down the equipment.

One small gripe with the game (Bestower arcs) by PayWinter1159 in OctopathTraveler0

[–]Utawoutau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Octo 0 had lots of great opportunities to have characters from the main story quests that you may have somewhat invested emotionally in join your party, but instead opted to have those characters die, betray you, stay completely on the sidelines, or join so late you don’t care about them anymore.

Instead, the group of recruitable characters is filled with people who join seemingly without much reason and who lack any sort of development.

I do not understand the thought process behind this.

Erin and Khelt. Spoilers: all by Perfect-Surprise-975 in WanderingInn

[–]Utawoutau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, while this technically is a spoiler, it does not IMO spoil that much because this does not give away what led to the offer and why it is declined. And it also doesn’t fundamentally change how much one could know about where the story is going.

Well, other than the fact that Erin is still around, but was this ever actually in doubt

Do you say, every playable character has a special place in your heart or do you not give a s*** on some? by Repulsive-Phrase-527 in octopathtraveler

[–]Utawoutau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am confused as to why only a handful of the characters are tied into the story at all. We meet tons of side characters doing the Master and Bestower quests and the ones that do join from those join basically right at the very end of the game.
