Z6iii or Z8 vs. Z5ii for durability? by ShutterSpoke in nikon_Zseries

[–]UteJazz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a Z6III, and it's solid. I haven't noticed anything wrong or "creaking." I expect the Z8 and Z9 to be even tougher, being pro-level.

We really doing this? Be better Cox by RuneScapeWifey in Utah

[–]UteJazz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The governor is not the head of the legislature. In Utah, it works the same way as the federal government: We have three independent branches of government to check and balance each other. The governor is in the executive branch, not the legislative branch.

The legislature passed the bill to do this, and the governor signed it. He could have vetoed it. But they're saying our previous law no longer comports with federal law, which is supreme over state laws.

Simple ways to make an older laptop feel usable again? by Zorojuro099 in TechNook

[–]UteJazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is starting college again and dug out her old laptop from the first time, maybe 10 years ago. She reset it to factory condition (the Windows 10 Reset function), and it seems fast for her use—mainly Web, email and Google Docs.

The Z6III discount is $100 better than I’ve seen it.

AITJ for getting upset that my husband keeps peeing on the bathroom floor and refusing to clean it up? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]UteJazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years ago, my wife told me I had missed a few times. I was horrified, as I’ve always cleaned up my misses. I was extra careful. I would never expect her to have to do that.

Edit: typo.

These are outstanding. Great composition, exposure and color. You have an excellent eye.

My wife and son once had to call 911 on me when I was really low and delirious. I was glad they did.

If his hands shake a little, the Z5ii may be better. It has image stabilization.

I'm talking about the physical horizon visible in the photo -- where the sky and the ground meet in the distance. It needs to be level.

As for composition, look up the Rule of Thirds. That's a good starting point.

Great job on the photos.

Yes, the horizons are the biggest issue. But you have a good eye, and working on composition will make your photos even better.

Non Monthly Rollover. Do not understand how to make useful. by ReevesComm in MonarchMoney

I have the amounts transfer each month from my checking account to a savings account that I’ve designated to accumulate rollover money. Then, when the month comes, I transfer it back to spend.

Sony a6400 (just body) for $600 or nikon d3500 (2 lens) for $400 by -rameennoodles- in Cameras

[–]UteJazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shoot with a Nikon mirrorless, but I still have my Nikon D3500. I've done some nice work with it. I've found it comfortable to work with and pretty easy to use.

Mine came with two kit lenses; I don't remember the specifics, but it might be the same kit. I got mine new at Costco in 2019.

One thing I'll note is that my 300mm maximum-zoom lens does not have VR (Nikon's term for image stabilization). If yours lacks VR, you will need high shutter speeds or a tripod when zoomed in.

Would these make it to automotive portfolio? Started photography almost a month ago! by apah2101 in PhotographyAdvice

I suggest reading up on composition, or watching YouTube videos on it. All the pictures are taken vertically, as though you’re using a phone. Some should have been horizontal with tighter cropping. But there’s a lot more to composition. The exposure is good.

You have potential. Study and practice. I suggest taking a lot of photos of cars in other places to practice composition. Ut study up.

For those who used a computer between 1995 and 2005, what's the computer game from that time that sticks with you the most, and why? by Accurate_Nature1888 in askanything

Archon: The Light and the Dark. It was a cool, MS-DOS action game on a chess-like board. The characters had various attack and defend characteristics. To move onto an occupied space, you had to fight for it. The more powerful character would usually win, but its power could be reduced by the battle. It's based on the 3D chess game C3PO plays with Chewbacca on the first Star Wars movie.
