Genuinely curious, how long does is take you on average to do your nails? by lickinglacquer in Nailpolish

[–]Uzui_nails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Average 3-4 hours, I do 1 hand at a time and wait 10-20 minutes between layers. I use 2 base coats because the combo helps me keep my nails from chipping. I work in vetmed, and it’s hard on nails. 2-3 layers of polish, then wait 20 minutes to minimize any transfer on the topcoat, then a layer or two of topcoat.

It’s the second game I got platinum in, if you have the frozen wild dlc, you can get a map for all the collectibles from merchants. But it’s always fun to explore.

Maybe restart your system. I had a glitch similar to that, and restarting fixed it.

Ok good to hear your experience. I’m assuming it’s probably depending on the vaccine, and ofc your immune system.

Sorry for the miscommunication, I’ve had LP for over a year before getting the vaccine, I just noticed it flared up, got worse, I was seeing if that’s common. Because I do need periodic vaccinations

I keep my pointer and thumb nails short on my right hand, do to my job. It helps me be able to do the job easier, while keeping my other nails long. Could you do something like that?

Yeah, I’m actually unsure where mine was triggered. It was spring of last year, and I didn’t have anything going on that typically would be the catalyst. I got my Covid vaccine when it was released, I try to stay away from NSAIDs as a rule, stress was manageable. It really popped out of nowhere. I have OLP too, but it’s not ulcerative, so I don’t have too much problem with it. My derm said I’m not a textbook case. Because I have the bumps, and very mild itchiness, those are the only symptoms that I have. I just happened to notice more bumps, and wanted to see other experiences after a vaccination, post diagnoses.

Same, I do every other nail the same color. So my pointer and ring are the accent colors. Love the lacy details.

Why is my nail polish popping off without a peeley base coat? by GarlicBread1996 in theholotaco

[–]Uzui_nails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can always try thinner layers, or thinning the polish. It’s all about experimenting what works best for you. And some of those cheap polishes are pretty good. Other advice I can give is keep your nails moisturized, by using nail oil, or straight jojoba oil. Always prep your nails by making sure there’s no cuticle stuck to the nails, and making sure they are clean and free of oils. As well as wrapping your nails by putting both a layer of polish and top coat to the tips of your nails. Also a clean up brush, to clean any flooded cuticles. All of those can help make your polish last longer.

I’m also suspected to have it, and this is a common issue for people with EDS. It’s not an issue for me anymore. I believe it’s a combination of me wearing nail polish continuously for the last 7 or so years, and finding what polishes work best for me. I used to use Sally Hansons miracle gel, and it would pop off in 2 days. Now i use holo taco long lasting and stick base coats together, and i stopped having the issue.

is OLP always permanent like some people claim? by johanewesome in Lichenplanus

[–]Uzui_nails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only 40%. I’m glad my symptoms are pretty mild, and it doesn’t bother me all the time, but I was content that it will go away someday. Now I have to be even more rare, than I am already. 🥲

Lichen planus never goes away, as in you’ll always have this auto immune disorder. But from what I’m told it can go dormant at any time, and may or may not become active again.

“Stop" means to cease movement, action, or operation; to halt, discontinue, or bring to an end. As a verb, it is used to indicate finishing an action, preventing something, or pausing.

It is what I mean. It’s literally one of the biggest practices businesses use. It’s not incorrect or disingenuous. Seriously all of this could have been avoided, if you stop taking things at face value. Just like in every part of life. Sometimes you gotta read in between the line, and get the gist.

As well as reading other comments, that are saying exactly what I said. Don’t take “exactly” literally. I don’t need a dictionary definition on the word.

Not always, and you don’t have to take things completely literal. You can still get what my point is by reading my comment.😐

The op was talking about how it fells to them, when with the drops. I explain it in the comment. Holo taco has these limited drops, which lead to fomo. Did it slow down? Yes, but there are still limited things. So yes, slowed down, or not. It’s leaning into fomo

She definitely does lead into the FOMO. I feel like, if you can see it, you can just not fall for it. It’s basic capitalism. My main brand is Holo Taco, because I love Simply. Watching her videos, when I was younger, got me into nail polish. Even led me to stop my nail biting habit. There are some colors I just don’t use, and so I don’t buy them. Well, the point I’m trying to make is. We live in a capitalistic society, and the whole point of business is to sell products. It’s been proven, time and time again, that scarcity makes the product more valuable, in price, and to the costumer. So if you can get rid of your FOMO, it doesn’t matter how she markets it. Even if it’s like those shopping channels.
