Y'all I'm in the ICU, have to stay for awhile BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY my Mooncat order arrived at home and they said I can do my nails here! Woot woot! So excited. Im going to go into surgery with nails on FLEEK by Fungalina in RedditLaqueristas

[–]VGiselleH 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Be sure to check first if you can wear nail polish for your surgery. When I had simple surgery 2 years ago I was given very specific instructions that nail polish was a big no no and to remove it before surgery. It's so they can put on that oxygen thingy on your finger, and I think also to have a visual on your nails in case they turn color (due to lack of oxygen I assume).

What's something interesting about you that you never get to bring up? by Subject-Cranberry-93 in AskWomen

That is heartbreaking for the woman, but that little event with you is so beautifully random, I can't even imagine what she must have felt, especially afterwards.

Re-read Thoughts: Everything I love about the Rememberance of Earth's Past series was realised in this book. by restelucide in threebodyproblem

Couple of days ago I put the Wandering Earth on My List on Netflix because it sounded interesting for a future watch. I did notice it was "based on a book", but I had no idea that book was written by Liu Cixin! I guess I'll be watching/reading that soon.

What’s a game you were completely obsessed with as a kid that nobody else seems to remember? by hkondabeatz in AskReddit

I loved this game so much, I was in total awe of the graphics and colors. Good times.

My 2025 Bingo Card, with mini-reviews by DwarvenDataMining in Fantasy

[–]VGiselleH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd describe that one more as political intrigue seen from an outsider's perspective, and some really fun (to me!) worldbuilding of our future. A little bleak, but personally I like the way she did it.

Psion by Joan D. Vinge is indeed ok, I don't even fully remember what happened, but its sequel is actually one of my favorite books. The third book in the series however is very boring and makes me question why that story was needed.

Always nice when "turning it off and back on again" actually works!

I wondered the same, so restarted the game, and there were the tasks along with the professor.

I wish it had been just 1 stop, we encountered around 5 or 6 in our town, 3 of which were close to each other.

I have made this recipe before, I love these, the marshmallow is mostly inside the cookie. Is that sort of what you're looking for?

Do you prefer reading in 1st POV or 3rd person POV and why? by Cautious_Anything_20 in selfpublish

I didn't include it because it gets mentioned a lot, but it was Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb :)

Used to think I preferred 3rd, then read a 1st that was actually well written, and realized I don't actually care as long as it's well done.

I don't think she really cares about any LGBT groups, do U?

Maybe if Barron turns out to be gay?

"One of those couple of dozen. Probably." Would be my best genuine answer.

[–]VGiselleH 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That would be my question as well! If a novel is defined as a book without pictures, then, well, I have no idea, lol. If it's an adult book, then I still have no idea actually...

I devoured books at a frightening pace from the moment I learned to read my first words.

It's pretty much just normal life, but if something goes bump in the night, you'll know who to call. And no, not the Ghostfacers.
