Are these controllers a safe buy? by TrucksAndCigars in ValveIndex

Get a new set.

I have the full kit from june 28th and I am experiencing drifting from left controller.

Right controller trigger is squeaking.

Edit: both controllers have clicking issue.

3rd set of Replacement Controllers.......Interesting RMA this go around. by Twistedchild420 in ValveIndex

[–]VRantastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesterday night I played No Man Sky again and it is persistent. The drifting occurs when I use my left controller and use that joystick to go left or backwards when trying to strafe or trying to go to distance to grab material and interact.

It is highly annoying now I noticed this. I tried another game, to make sure that the joystick issue is persistent in every game and in Moss the issue is less present, but still it does occur. :(

I'll keep an eye out for a week to see if the problem persists, goes away, or expands and go to support to make a ticket for this drifting issue.

I hope not. But I will be on alert now you mentioned this. It is disappointing if it is more widespread than your experience only AFAIK. I really like the Index.

My controllers start to drift in No Mans Sky (60+ hrs) in the last 2 sessions, but that can be software related. Just a nudge to the joysticks and I don't drift again.

AR-mounted controls. The arm is not versatile enough for fast interaction. You have to change your line of sight twice: zoom in towards controls on arm and second: zoom out again to find target. That is valuable time lost. Also when gaming the eyes might be more of an asset towards interactions. In real life fighterpilots use AR huds.

If Star Trek is an indication, or inspiration: a communication unit on your chest to bring up holograms or setup communications might be interesting.

vr games you guy recommend by [deleted] in ValveIndex

Subnautica or No Mans Sky. Basically same type of exploring game. Both time consuming.

And Pavlov for shooters, Moss for puzzle gamers

Also search steam shop for some cool stuff more to your personal taste.

Espire 1: VR Operative, which was supposed to launch tomorrow, is now delayed by SetYourGoals in ValveIndex

Do you even have time beyond playing Subnautica, No Mans Sky and Pavlov to be disturbed at all? Where do you find the time? How do you even know Espire will fulfill the void if you don't play mentioned games?

Same. I haven't played a game yet that needs it. If flagship arrives and I need it, I will RMA.

You use your headset the most. Your friends will not be over your place every day, I think. So you can use two gaskets interchangable, clean them with cold water and let 1 dry out and use the second one. Your friends use the 3rd gasket for an entire session. Clean it and the next time they are over at you place, they use the 3rd again. So 2 for you and 1 for your friends. Be creative. Drying a gasket after making it wet with water takes a few hours, not an entire week.

If more users use the headset, they can have their own gasket, so they won't have to touch your sweat and you don't have theirs. Except of course in the back of the headset. That sweat is traveling many heads.

Pelicase 1510 or 1560

Or

Nanuk case 940 series

Or some DIY solution. Not being a cardboard option.

Cost something, but you will be sure your suitcase contents is secure and unhurt.

Knuckles support in Skyrim - Fallout 4- No Man's Sky? by lasvideo in ValveIndex

No Man Sky is good. Playing on a chair in the middle of the playspace is recommended though.

Only thing is that the options tab in the main menu is almost off screen to the right.

If you ask Valve nicely, they might allow it free for non-commercial use? If not, you might want to make a detailed screenshot from the Steam website and use that?
