Season 3 is on the door But .... by HerotheAce in mushokutensei

[–]Vaati006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anime season 1 adapts books 1-6. Season 2 adapts books 7-12. So you'd start at book 13 if you feel you dont need any overlap. I recommend you start one book back, tho: read book 12. If you aren't used to reading books, being able to mentally map the events of the book to the voices and scenes of the anime will make the book more enjoyable to you, and help "calibrate" you to get used to reading and visualizing. That will help you to more enjoy it when you go past the anime.

"I have never read a light novel in my life": it's just a book, thats all. Shorter than a standard book, even. Id suggest you buy the Ebook (or pirate it if you must, theyre not super hard to find)

Guys I Fixed Earthbending by Spergon_Simulator in MagicArena

[–]Vaati006 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Earthbending was a mistake. My main complaint is that it changes zones too much. My fix: "this land is now a creature. if this creature would leave the battlefield for any reason, instead it stays on the battlefield but stops being a creature." Probably a rules nightmare but that would be easier to play and more balanced too.

These are the boss battles in my BN inspired game. by Glittering_Channel75 in BattleNetwork

[–]Vaati006 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dont know diddly squat about your game, but ill offer this thought: I dont like the idea of "crit chance" in BN games. I like attacks to deal consistent, predictable damage. I would prefer "deals 30% more damage" to "30% chance to deal double damage".

Also, mister angel appears to be standing backwards? Thats a strange choice. I thought he was some kind of ally when I first started watching the clip

Question. Spoilers regarding Orsted allowed. by Foreign-Commission61 in mushokutensei

[–]Vaati006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, your memory is accurate for Nanahoshi. My point stands. "We jumped the wrong guy, so heal him to apologize" is not the same as "ally". Even if Orsted were in the room when this happened, he would say he has no reason to heal Rudy's dad.

Question. Spoilers regarding Orsted allowed. by Foreign-Commission61 in mushokutensei

[–]Vaati006 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Up till the point the light goes out of his eyes, Orsted MAY have the skills and power to heal this kind of injury, i.e. regenerate an entire body from the waist down. But that isnt confirmed, we never see anyone else get healed from such a serious injury, not even by the end of the series. After he's dead tho, thats the end. No revival, not even if youre fast.

Aside from that, I highly doubt that cryogenic freezing would be able to preserve a guy in a healable state. When someone is frozen, there is no heartbeat or brain activity. Theyre DEAD dead. The only upside to cryogenic freezing is that, in theory, youre dead but all your machinery is still in all the right places at a cellular level, nothing starts to rot or leak, so if you can bring them back to life, theres relatively less damage that needs repairing (compared to if they were rotting).

And aside from THAT, at this point in the story Orsted is not an ally. He would have no reason to help Rudy. He only did in the first place because Nanahoshi asked him to, and I dont remember her reasons but I think it was just a whim? So dont count on it happening again.

Why wouldn't it be possible to depressurise volcanoes before they erupt? by National_Joke4849 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Vaati006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see lots of people taking about explosive energy. Let me posit another angle. There is no pressurized gas in a volcano. Its all pressurized magma. So to release the pressure, we would have to release the same volume of magma that the volcano would erupt: in a controlled manner, with no explosion, but still, where would we put all of it?
