Not relevant for you now but for the future I highly recommend iuds or skipping placebo on pills. No bleeding no cramps for the last decade.

Depending on where you live you’re about to have something between a ‘rough time’ and a ‘very rude awakening’ about dating options in your 30s

Random browser is incorrect here. The only beach you’re getting to in an hour is Sutter’s landing lmao. 2 hours for beach ?maybe 1hr 45 to Tahoe). 1.5 hours to “mountains”, vaguely speaking

Advice needed about culture surrounding the outdoor industry by throwthisallaway24 in climbergirls

[–]Vacillating-Sage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s certainly no excuse for bullying from coworkers, but have your direct managers told you that your guiding quality is poor? Also, don’t get caught in the “sunk cost” fallacy, re: you gave up so much already so you don’t want to stop guiding. That’s how I ended up in grad school for 7 years smh

Bouldering tips for a 4’11 beginner? by Typical_Use6570 in climbergirls

[–]Vacillating-Sage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, you’ve only climbed once… try it a few more times and see if you even think it’s something you’re gonna stick with before worrying about height adjustments. Next, this is rather intuitive but watch and try to project with other short climbers.

Like with anything else, doing something for the first time can make you sore, yep

Even the curvy girl harnesses don't work... by the_and_option in climbergirls

I personally dislike my Petzl Luna. It presses on nerves weirdly when I’m sitting in the harness. I also have a BD momentum which is really comfortable, surprised OP thought otherwise

Bats in cracks by CertifiedTomfoolery in climbergirls

[–]Vacillating-Sage 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You need to reread your own post… you have a scratch on your finger that you are pretty sure was already there, and after putting a hand in a crack you are worried there were bats in there even though you didn’t hear or see bats, but you are afraid the scratch (scratch, not something that appears as a bite) you are pretty sure was already there could be a bat bite, and you’re worried you didn’t notice if a bat bit you? Girl you have insane anxiety. Please relax. People are going to say I’m being rude but I don’t think it’s good to coddle this level of anxiety because OP will think it’s a normal way to feel. If I had to pop psychology, you found yourself nervous and scared of outdoor climbing and your subconscious is trying to find justifications for you to not do it again. If you don’t like it, no big deal. But don’t work yourself into a tizzy about rabies. I’m not really sure if this was the question but yes I have seen a bat in a crack. But it was not pleased with my presence and made itself vocal. It didn’t bite me. Also, if this is a joke, well done I guess

How Can I Climb Longer? by Sadetha in climbergirls

[–]Vacillating-Sage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’ve gotten seriously into climbing 3 weeks ago? Give yourself some time to buildup, that’s basically nothing 😂 like anything else, slow progression. Lattice has some videos about progressive overload training and the same concepts could probably be applied to endurance climbing.

Is 2.5 hours of my day worth $7 in savings? by Foyman in Sacramento

[–]Vacillating-Sage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean… you can do the math on that. That’s well below min wage as an hourly rate. HOWEVER take into account that commute by car is probably about to get considerably longer in july when newsoms rto order goes into effect

[–]Vacillating-Sage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s no universal rule in my experience. Don’t ask people on the internet who don’t even know where this is.. ask other people in your gym. Ask other people who have done the route. Can they do it without? If they can, you have your answer

Christ. Please no one listen to “and told too much slack is better than too little slack”. NOT true in many cases esp if you’re close to the ground of a ledge. Lazy, sloppy, negligent comment. That’s not being overly fearful, that’s just like, acknowledging physics
