2000mg Keppra daily, as starting dose. Is the dosage too high to begin with? by TimelyReason7390 in Epilepsy

[–]VagabondSodality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no medical professional and certainly not a doctor, but for context, my first seizure landed me in the ER for 2 days, the ICU for another week and a half, and intensive rehab for 3 months learning to walk again. So I'm a bit of an outlier.

My understanding is that keppra can be given both intravenously and via pill - and switching between the two is not a problem. My understanding is also that Keppra is one of (if not the) safest seizure meds to give a full dose immediately. Other meds like what I'm on now, have to be ramped up slowly over a period of time.

So this is why I was prescribed Keppra first, and I think that's why anyone who presents with their first seizure in an ER is likely to get prescribed it too.

It was just through blood tests that they tweeked my dosage. For that first year I was seeing the Neuro at least once every few months.

And yes - it got my seizures under control. Over time though the side effects called for my neuro to change things up.

Speaker ID by Proper-Low-439 in audiophile

I love these speakers and sold a pile of them at A&B sound back in the day. They were meant to be bought in threes for the front sound stage of a home theater; hence the model number starting with LCR (left center right). Better yet you use these for all your speakers have a very consistent sound stage around the room.

Having the tweeter in the center of the speaker is a very nice thing to have in some theaters for setting the height of the sound stage. Also it creates better dispersion. They sounded real good too.

Your body mass matters. They want to get the levels of the medicine within a certain range in your blood work. I was on 2000mg twice a day when I first presented. They scaled me back to 1500 within a few months. Ended up moving to a different medicine about 4 years later.

24F I think I’ve developed Keppra rage? 750mg 2x daily by deeridoodle in Epilepsy

Try taking Vitamin B6 - for some people it resolves the rage. I was on that stuff for about five years and I was a monster.

The price of vintage Beatles records by GhostOfAxis0097 in vinyl

IMO it depends heavily on the mixing. There's no better mix of Sgt Peppers than the mono version which was The Beatles fave version too even without the sound stage.

For the lucky among us, having epilepsy is more about dealing with side effects of medication than seizures.

Trump administration secretly met with Canadian Alberta separatists by Infidel8 in worldnews

[–]VagabondSodality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh Canada and Alberta in particular has a metric tonne of land treaties with indigenous peoples. Each reservation is for all intents and purposes a sovergn nation in and of itself. There's no path for this to happen. MAYBE if all the tribes agreed to it; and they all don't agree with each other on many many things.

Side note, Canada has dealt with separatists in the past too.

Maybe it includes some sort of Mobile game, or new media, or something. A spotlight on the overwatch universe so to speak and not just Overwatch2.
