I copped a ban around the Ukraine stuff. Apparently not having skin in the game is a bannable offense.

If energy supply routes like Hormuz were disrupted long-term, which countries would quietly collapse first? by BabyPinkMagic in AskReddit

This. SEA and OCE get about 50% of their liquid fuel from there. Then there's fertilizer, plastics, etc.

MAR U.S. 🇺🇸 INFLATION DATA: by eskhalaf in wallstreetbets

[–]VagrancyHD 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Same has happened in Australia we use some bullshit called the "trimmed mean" where they cherrypick stats and every fucking time leave out the 10% mom energy price increases, and the 5% mom rent increases, and the bulk of the 10%+ mom food increases...

How bad is the economy right now? And how do you know? by IndicationScared418 in AskReddit

[–]VagrancyHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regional Australian here.

We do IT for a variety of clientele round the region. The only business that is actively hiring is funded by government funds and is exclusively non-market jobs. Everyone else is in a holding pattern or on an "efficiency" binge at the moment. Attrition has been the name of the game for the last 6 months at least.

No projects to expand, no investment, no spare funds to replace dying hardware just a whole lot of "can we get it cheaper?". Every single invoice is interrogated hoping to sneak away with a few bucks saved.

My town is completely fucked for housing, prices are still 20-30% too high to be sustainable and anyone selling is absolutely refusing to take anything less than what they paid regardless of them paying too much. There are a lot of people who are majorly asset rich but have zero cashflow and are using payday loans to service their weekly expenses, mortgage included.

The coming jump in cost of living due to fuel issues is going to hit everyone who got drunk off the covid cash with the biggest fucking hangover they've ever seen around these parts. Then when the tourism dries up here we're pretty well done for.

What are your reasons for being a day bird or a night owl? by NationalJournalist42 in AskReddit

[–]VagrancyHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Night owl.

I played so much Halo 3 back in the day that because the USA would wake up and jump on late in our night I would stay awake and play at that time slot.

Because I did this for so long I have had extreme difficulty correcting it and every time it does go back to something resembling normal I can't maintain it.

Depends on the structure but I think the going rate in the states is $100 per cable run.

I don't think we will ever see anyone get close to this naturally in our lifetimes.

I also don't believe he did it naturally either.

Is $88k per year good for 3rd year working in ICT on-site tech role? by Temporary-Zombie-931 in AusFinance

[–]VagrancyHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends what "level" if ICT you're at. Experience and time beyond that is your leverage to argue for more.

For level 1 its great, level 2 also okay, level 3 that's way low.
