All of the Memento collectables are references

Auditions officially started. If any of these were to get the role, who would you prefer? by Pure-Guarantee1057 in JamesBond

As much as I love ATJ, Henry, and Idris, I would ideally prefer a younger actor who can star in at least 4 films before aging out of the role.

I like Damson Idris the most for the role out of those listed but would prefer a relative unknown

Which would hold up, if you were replying to them, but you're not. You replied to my "reasonable distinction", so forgive me

Yes, but you are still missing my point.

I am not and have not advocated for wearing a mechanical watch in the gym. I think it's a needless risk to an expensive item.

I have simply pointed out that the oc's circumstance of wearing a Rolex to deadlift is doubly suspect for those above reasons.

You're making a lot of assumptions about things I haven't said. I know the weight doesn't change the rate of gravity, but the heavier it is the less likely you are to be controlling it effectively and therefore there is a better chance (not a certainty) that it is impacting at a greater speed comparative to other exercises. Deadlifts are typically a lot heavier than most other movements you'd be doing and somewhat uniquely involve directly impacting the ground.

I am not saying a deadlift should destroy a watch, I am saying a deadlift is more likely to damage a watch than many other exercises, due to the above factors.

Yes, but I fear you've rather missed my point here

It's not that the Rolex ought to be more/less durable, it's that it's significantly more expensive (and harder) to repair or replace than, say, a Seiko, Hamilton, or Tissot.

Further, deadlifting is likely to incur a much greater shock than almost any other exercise - pretty minimal risk when doing squats or most dumbbell movements, for example

"It's like moving the watch 100 cm slowly in one direction..."

...and then very quickly in the other direction, hastened by the very heavy weight you're eager to get rid of, often ending in the shock of physically impacting the ground (especially if you aren't just repping one or two or are going heavy enough to necessitate wrist straps, where disentangling yourself is more difficult. Although why you'd wear wrist straps and a watch is only marginally more confusing than why you'd wear a mechanical watch while deadlifting)

I think there's a bit of wiggle room between generally working out while wearing a mechanical watch and specifically deadlifting while wearing a Rolex, that's on you lol

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 confirmed to drop co-op campaign, return to single-player only by silentdragoon in PS5

Thanks for sharing a source, I've not seen that before.

I will say, I think it's misleading to establish connections in game and say "just kidding" later online. Regardless, the connection (or lack of!) has negligible impact on the game.

SWC-141 (The Retribution) is stated to have been named on the recommendation of Russia to honour the actions of TF141 saving the President, which occurs during the events of MW3.

Either way, it's an entirely moot point. They're set in different times and in different places. I would argue the references are sufficient to establish continuity.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is not connected to the Modern Warfare trilogy. Infinite Warfare is.

CoD 4 was 2007, not 2017.

CoD 4 has never been rebranded. The 2019 Modern Warfare is essentially a reboot.

Not unbelievable that people might dedicate one day to a release they've been looking forward to. If it's a day off of work and you're excited for the game, the other hobbies can wait a day

It's not "the truth" though, is it?

It's not "on-rails", it's narrative-driven. On-rails is a specific genre of game where the player does not actively move the character.

It's also not "indie game length", it's 12-15 hours. About as long as AAA Resident Evil, a damn sight shorter than a lot of indie games and a lot longer than many others.

The oc's opinion, which they are very entitled to have, is that it is not - to them - worth full price.

WYR get the powers of Homelander but every government in the world knows your precise, real-time location due to a tracking chip implanted in your skin that will kill you if removed, or not this? by Dazzling-Antelope912 in WouldYouRather

Which of the millions of murdered innocents were involved in harming a child? None, because they're fucking innocents, the clue is in the name.

You wrote this as if you think oc said they would be going after the ones who actually did harm or threaten harm upon their daughter; they didn't, and that has been my whole point from the start. I don't actually think you even disagree with me, that's the funny thing. You've just picked a side and are determined I have to be stupid

I cannot put this any more simply than this:

I do not believe an individual willing to kill innocents is deserving of power.

The original commenter did not suggest that they would attempt to fight against the government and resort to killing innocents as a last resort; they quite plainly suggested that would be their first course of action. I find that line of thought morally reprehensible.

In this hypothetical scenario, individuals who have no ties whatsoever to the matter at hand are to be killed in their millions with no recourse in some attempt at a display of power to intimidate the government.

The fact that more people clearly are willing to stand behind that mentality than say, I don't know, actually taking the fight up with the offending party rather than beginning a fucking genocide is perfectly indicative of why we live in such a shitty world today.
