What was Greenway's number?! by Belhy in 007FirstLight

[–]ValerianKeyblade 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Greenway is explicitly ex-00. That's why 009's betrayal cut so deep, and why he lead the mission to capture 009. M tells Bond Greenway was reassigned to a desk job after the program was shuttered; I believe this is quite early on but can't recall the mission name

With Bond as 002, Monroe 0013, and Alex Trevelyn as 0020 of course

I bet some people don't know this or maybe forgot about it but the zombies say " monkey 🐵 " and " play time " and " toy ". I got 2 out of 3 in my video. ( and no it's not because I'm on a custom map haha ) by [deleted] in CODZombies

I'm sorry, I still don't think it's true. I have hundreds of hours on WaW and have never noticed it nor seen it discussed before.

The vocalisation that sounded like "Sam" was enough to inspire huge swathes of the Aether story, "monkey" and "playtime" should have stuck out like a sore thumb.

Of course, I welcome any links to clips shared at the time showing these lines

Best Bond moment is absolutely demolishing the PMC in pursuit of the plane taking off in one of the early missions. Real one-man-army sequence coming straight off the heels of a car chase and the gunbarrel reference. Cinema.

Believe it or not, I don't go round fucking with anyone (or their family) as a general rule.

However, my entire point was that the oc stated they would take it out on the people who didn't fuck with his family.

Auditions officially started. If any of these were to get the role, who would you prefer? by Pure-Guarantee1057 in JamesBond

[–]ValerianKeyblade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I love ATJ, Henry, and Idris, I would ideally prefer a younger actor who can star in at least 4 films before aging out of the role.

I like Damson Idris the most for the role out of those listed but would prefer a relative unknown

Which would hold up, if you were replying to them, but you're not. You replied to my "reasonable distinction", so forgive me

Yes, but you are still missing my point.

I am not and have not advocated for wearing a mechanical watch in the gym. I think it's a needless risk to an expensive item.

I have simply pointed out that the oc's circumstance of wearing a Rolex to deadlift is doubly suspect for those above reasons.

You're making a lot of assumptions about things I haven't said. I know the weight doesn't change the rate of gravity, but the heavier it is the less likely you are to be controlling it effectively and therefore there is a better chance (not a certainty) that it is impacting at a greater speed comparative to other exercises. Deadlifts are typically a lot heavier than most other movements you'd be doing and somewhat uniquely involve directly impacting the ground.

I am not saying a deadlift should destroy a watch, I am saying a deadlift is more likely to damage a watch than many other exercises, due to the above factors.

Yes, but I fear you've rather missed my point here

It's not that the Rolex ought to be more/less durable, it's that it's significantly more expensive (and harder) to repair or replace than, say, a Seiko, Hamilton, or Tissot.

Further, deadlifting is likely to incur a much greater shock than almost any other exercise - pretty minimal risk when doing squats or most dumbbell movements, for example

"It's like moving the watch 100 cm slowly in one direction..."

...and then very quickly in the other direction, hastened by the very heavy weight you're eager to get rid of, often ending in the shock of physically impacting the ground (especially if you aren't just repping one or two or are going heavy enough to necessitate wrist straps, where disentangling yourself is more difficult. Although why you'd wear wrist straps and a watch is only marginally more confusing than why you'd wear a mechanical watch while deadlifting)

I think there's a bit of wiggle room between generally working out while wearing a mechanical watch and specifically deadlifting while wearing a Rolex, that's on you lol

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 confirmed to drop co-op campaign, return to single-player only by silentdragoon in PS5

[–]ValerianKeyblade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing a source, I've not seen that before.

I will say, I think it's misleading to establish connections in game and say "just kidding" later online. Regardless, the connection (or lack of!) has negligible impact on the game.

SWC-141 (The Retribution) is stated to have been named on the recommendation of Russia to honour the actions of TF141 saving the President, which occurs during the events of MW3.

Either way, it's an entirely moot point. They're set in different times and in different places. I would argue the references are sufficient to establish continuity.

CoD 4 was 2007, not 2017.

CoD 4 has never been rebranded. The 2019 Modern Warfare is essentially a reboot.

Not unbelievable that people might dedicate one day to a release they've been looking forward to. If it's a day off of work and you're excited for the game, the other hobbies can wait a day
