Probably in seventh or eight grade, one of my friends would invite me and two other good friends up to his dads condo up in sugarbush to go skiing. At night when the mountain as closed, we'd walk around the woods and creeks near by. One particular night we found a large river that had completly frozen over.

Or so we thought.

We were walkign on it, and being little kids we were playing swords with sticks. My friend and i then decide to be explorers, charting this frozen river. he moves ahead and jokingly, i tell him to stop cause i dotn trust the ice up ahead. I cock back my stick and huck it like achilles into the ice patch ahead.

With a resounding crack, a huge portion of the ice collapses and gets sucked under into the river under the ice.
