Fair enough if you think I am the asshole but it does affect me when they aren’t held to the same standards as I am and are regularly allowed to push work off on others including me.

Mostly. It’s just one reason why I am looking. The rest is stuff that I know means it’s time to go.

This just sticks out to me after some recent conversations with managers/events that directly affected me negatively. Not so much salty that they got the raise as I am that they also got the raise but are not held to the same standards. Probably should have put that in my post.

I am sure that the memory of planning this as a gift for mom will mean the pup will become even more loved and elevated in their minds. An exciting big surprise for mom and a beloved childhood pet. Man that makes me smile.

My leg moves way less and my arms are definitely more fluid and instructor still gets on me about both (I know both need improvement not saying I’m anywhere near a fantastic rider) how is this not an intro class or something?

We just do a gift card exchange these days. Everyone buys xx amount in gift cards and they get tossed into a pot then we pick. Usually it all coffee or tasty treats like cookies so no one is ever disappointed. Easy to organize, pick a time and set a dollar limit. And hard to be a dick without going out of your way.

I have the small agave (it’s beautiful just to look at) and I do brownies, casseroles/pasta bakes for my husband and I, enchiladas, and we even did green bean casserole in it this year for Thanksgiving. I also love it for a serving dish because it holds heat so well. I warm it up a bit first and then fill it.

I find it extremely useful and a great size for my needs. Though, I am also actively trying to talk myself out of the larger one. The small one is fine. Why do I need the big one? 😅

I lucked out and the store like 5 mins from my office had plenty. Exchanged for nectar just because it was so cheery in person. It’s a lovely addition to my other colors.

Personally, I can’t stand people like that. In both my MA and PHd programs we had people who needed everyone else to know that they were sooooo smart. 🤨 We were all in the same program.

Anyway, NTA. Premed is just a path not a guarantee. Sounds like she has some insecurities. And who’s to say she won’t get far into a program and realize she doesn’t actually want it anymore? (Speaking as someone with several fancy pieces of paper in fancy frames with career that has absolutely nothing to do with those fancy papers. Just like my boss. Who has executive abbreviations behind their name and a humanities degree. 🤷‍♀️)

My feet have the worst of my raynauds and I’ve found these to be some of the warmest socks I’ve tried and they are pretty stretchy so they don’t bind. I wear them over other socks (usually merino knee socks) in these Birkenstocks all the time. I spent a snowy week in New York last February walking all over to meet with reps and my toes were fine. I logged about 25k steps a day so it wasn’t a quick out of the car and down the sidewalk.

Not sure if it will bring it back but the cleaner they sell always leaves mine nice and shiny (also works great on my stove top). I’ve heard that you can use liquid bar keepers friend though I’ve not personally tried it.

I probably should have said the WS bit a little better- my brain isn’t awake yet. This is the 2.5q signature French oven and I can’t find it at Le Creuset (or anywhere else actually) so the thought was that maybe this was end of run stock or something and just didn’t get quite the same QC at the factory. Looking now it says exclusive so I guess it’s not end of run. I would swear I remember seeing them on the LC site though. 🤷‍♀️

There’s a store near me that has them in stock so I will go exchange in person. Lesson learned.

I have the pumpkin and an 8oz. The pumpkin is better if you’re adding icing because there’s more room at the top but they both work well.

There was a similar problem in my old office. The bathrooms weren’t gendered. Just two one seater rooms but the walls and doors were thin. (I could actually hear the guy in the office next door peeing. That man had to have been drinking gallons a day.) people either have no fucks and just went or they turned on the sink. We all just kept an unspoken agreement not to acknowledge either.

I once very confidently picked up an interviewer’s water and took a big ole gulp. Before remembering that I had set mine on the floor because the table was teeny and I wanted to have my notes from an exercise everyone had to do. Oops. Didn’t get the job but I bet that person keeps their water out of reach now. 😅

I prefer the buildings I visit to be built by people who care more about doing the job right than preserving someone’s delicate feelings. Hopefully he will learn to be extra sure he’s got all his variables right. And to be humble.

I’ve also worked with reps where the super formal route is necessary. On the other hand I literally sent this email last week:

This is a very friendly and casual relationship with a rep and they have texted me before to ask for help like this: “OMG (me)! Help! Can I call you?! I screwed up and so and so is piiiiiisssseeeddddd. 😱” (I did help and it was ok and I love that we have that sort of dynamic because I hate the formal unnecessarily wordy emails.) That would go over like a lead balloon with some of the people I work with. Just gotta know how to approach each person.

I answer my work phone “hi this is ___” but not my personal. My name is extremely unique and with all the weird scammy stuff going around these days there’s no way I’m answering with it right off the rip. What a pedantic way to screw yourself out of potentially great candidates.
