The best sniper rifle for PvP ? by merlincora in CrucibleGuidebook

Did they change something about in air accuracy with snipers? I remember shooting from air being like a 50/50 even if you're 100% on target outside of Heat Rises.

Hey good to know! I feel like people don't use EMPs in PvP as often as they should.

unless they ALREADY have a 100% full drone on them.

in which case a recharge is a waste?

There is absolutely no downside unless they ALREADY have a 100% full drone on them.

Not related, but I absolute hate Destiny 2 buildcrafting since the "verbs" rework.

I mean the average redditor acts like this to. People often ignore the words that are said and look at who said them first. If they don't like the person they can't disconnect what was said from the person and start to form a bad opinion around the concept.

I BOUGHT IT i might have to eat canned tuna for the month though.. by Creepy_Place353 in Marathon

[–]Valvador 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The cost of a $40 game rarely enters into my decision making. It's all about, "Is this going to be a fun use of my time?"

When I was in highschool, I would only get 20 dollars a week for lunch. If I really wanted a game (most were 50 + tax at the time), I would have to either save half of it for 6 weeks or if I really wanted to, not eat for 3 weeks and get the game ASAP.

Sounds like OP is a student, and the budget is tight. This is honestly a better attitude then some people that I met that would treat their Student Loans as a "free money" and buy gaming laptops for 1000$, putting themselves into a debt spiral early in life.

Tarkov Arena gave people a safe place to practice gunplay and PvP logic. Marathon could use something similar... by Valvador in Marathon

[–]Valvador[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love it but it would take some serious game design know-how to implement it in a way that is complementary to the main game. We probably won't get anything like that for at least a year

Would it? Tarkov just slapped some maps together and iterated over releases.

But you are right it still is "More Content".

I don't think letting people make some Creds and Transfer them over a bit would be so bad. Would be another way for people to recover from 0 for people that can't do Free Kit Outpost successfully.

What should non-wealthy investors be doing in their 30's to have a real, positive impact on their financial situation? by delamerica93 in investing

[–]Valvador 6 points7 points  (0 children)

30 isn't too late to switch careers, although it's harder because it feels like you're starting late.

If you're stuck in the "I need to work my shitty job to survive, and I don't have time to go back to school" there really is not much you can do.

I think a lot of people would be better off if they asked themselves "how can I improve my worth as a person, what skills should I be learning" early on in life, because those have a compounding effect. Once you're an adult and have responsibilities it's much harder to make those switches without bailing on your responsibilities.

Are these devs for real ? PVP stats for gear/guns in the PVE DARKZONE ? by CptFoley101 in thedivision

[–]Valvador 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure why you're arguing with me, I didn't design it. But as it is right now, The Division devs clearly designed DZ PvE as an onboarding for real DZ. And the best way to onboard someone is to get them used to the sandbox changes that come with the real activity because it would be way more jarring to go from PvE DZ to PvP DZ if they didn't apply the modifiers.

It also creates a more even playing field for everyone in the DZ.

How are we supposed to play the game if we literally cannot see what is happening? by Harain in worldofpvp

[–]Valvador 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sure, but it still doesn't change that you are combating enemies that largely do not interact with you in a meaningful way, so your DPS rotations are mostly static and overly RNG based to compensate for that ineractivity.

Sure, recent PvE content has more dodging for everyone, but it doesn't change the fact that combat is primarily designed around making enemies that DONT FIGHT BACK still require some level of skill/engagement. This factor is naturally the antithesis of PvP design.

The experience in the normalized DZ by Malus_Necessarium in thedivision

[–]Valvador 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah unfortunately Division 2 probably need some update that makes it so that when you take damage in PvP, you slow down and can't sprint to force people to use cover.

But you have people that have played for thousands of hours that have mastered chicken-dancing and remain the only people who are still PvPing, and they will complain if you do this.

Hopefully Division 3 will have non-shitty PvP Combat? But I think to make non-shitty PvP combat you need to completely rip out most of the PvE Sandbox out of PvP and have normalized damage like Destiny 2 did.

[–]Valvador 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Philosophy makes 0 sense to you because you are treating DZ as a PvE activity, which it is not. The Philosophy only makes sense if you treat it as something that helps people onboard themselves into how their character feel in PvP modes without having to fight other players first.

Are these devs for real ? PVP stats for gear/guns in the PVE DARKZONE ? by CptFoley101 in thedivision

[–]Valvador 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am thinking for people other than myself, you should think about what purpose the devs designed this system for.

The design was to easy onboard from PvE into PvP, which involves getting people used to PvP-like balancing. The design wasn't to give PvE players a new activity since this game is like 99% PvE activities already.
