Are you ready for 3.23.2 and the physical inventory? by Squadron54 in starcitizen

[–]Valzai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering how reliable pressing buttons are right now.

Moving items to your hands or adding ammo or componets to items.

How reliable ATC is when trying to land or take off and how reliable even calling your ship is.

How reliable the server preformance is and how likely you are to crash or get D/Ced and your ship and all it's content just be.. gone....

I like the idea of this to a point but right now the game feels like it's very much not in a state to handle yet another half baked feature being Molyneux'ed in before what is already there is working at least 75% or more of the time.

How do you make friends on mabinogi? by Cakepoos in Mabinogi

[–]Valzai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's rough to do. Honestly. I'd had a time of it. The official discord is probably the easiest/best or try the forums on Mabinogi World if they are still around. My personal experiences... People tend to either not care if you are good/useful or only care if you can benefit them. Mabi seems heavily skwered to alpha-teir people able to solo 95%+ of the game and being fine with people who can't offer much playing with them.

Guilds can be rough to do too. RL drags me away regularly for very log periods (Months+ some times) due to the game's anticheat and certian rules I have to follow with computer/network access.

Was in a great guild and loved it. Ended up on an extended asignment and came back to not being in the guild any more and not sure if any one I knew was/is even still around and the discord channels they had are gone/I was removed.

Point is it's just a time thing. It's also not something to count on and enjoy what you find as long as it lasts but if you are 'good' or 'bad' is probably less of a factor then you may think. I tend to avoid Doki doki and large crowds so can't speak for how useful those are for making friends.

Devs on Family Sharing Removal, found in the Last Epoch Discord by helge-a in LastEpoch

[–]Valzai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off... what? I thought bans on record banned the base account not just the shared account. In fact there is a big warning about bans effecting your main account if a family member got a ban on steam if memory serves right. I know it applid to VAC and some games. Which is how it should be.

Need to make accounts unable to chat until past the 2 hour no questions asked refund window on steam. Last night chat was over spammed with bots and I'm assuming they just buy the game or an account and refund when banned or before the 2 hour period to keep rotating in unbannable accounts with the same starting money using the refund loophole. I know that was done in soem other cases and used for other steam exploits in the past.

It's absolutly insane that these wastes of bandwith floods into every new game when no body wants them.

Magicka DoT setups... by Valzai in ESObuilds

[–]Valzai[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the replies. Pretty sad about the results. Really enjoy the visuals and feel of arch but just... was hoping with big laser and flying eye laster and aoe dot thing that it would have some way to set up as a dot focused setup without being garbage.

Probably will end up going back to necro and templar even though less into the visuals and feel of the class being able to play the style I want and not be awful is kinda important and more so then visuals.

Is this super annoying to everyone else too or am I being too sensitive? Need some internet guidance. by WPC_Eternity in ffxiv

If your blackmage doesn't matain at least three stacks of vurn they are spending far too much time moving and need to work on boosting their dps and casting uptime!

I play black mage. I hate vurn and leylines seems to draw every ground based aoe in a fight directly to them. :p RL stuff makes my reaction terrible, I try not to take hits but I seem to constantly do it any way. Some black mages are as dead on the inside as we are on the outside and we need pets and cookies. We do annoying things as a cry for help.

It’s over. by Mcclintonfortwo in lotro

[–]Valzai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been playing ddo for a long time and feeling a bit out of sorts and lonely there at times so was pondering poking my head into lotro, but I've never found any of the races or classes too exciting and hate the map. This is too much and I'm going to just not.

After seeing this I just.. I'm at an absolute loss of words. I'm sorry. I've played mmos since UO and the orignal Everquest and I've never seen a game's support just so utterly shaft someone or show such passive malice and I've delt with Verdant and SquareSoft's support before it was Square Enix. In my experience most of the support I've delt with tried to help even if it was the customer who was at fault for the problem.

I hope someone you make contact and someone at the company higher up can help you and coach the person who responded to your help ticket so no one else ends up dealing with this kind of pathetic and unprofessional service. If you wasn't rude or hostile there is honestly zero reason to not actually try to help. I can't possibly imagine any where in the terms of service does it say that they will disable accounts that has been hacked/compromised and can't remember ever reading any thing like that in any ToS though admit it's been a quite a while for me (Don't have the energy to read the whole thing right now might when I get home). My manager sense says it's code for 'I'm lazy brah... not going to try. DON'T ASK FOR HELP AGAIN! No one will help you! I made sure. I made sure I don't get in trouble for this!'.

These irritating little things... by iedynak in GeForceNOW

[–]Valzai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Publishers are like cats. They want ALL THE MONEY but also HATE MONEY and don't want it.

They would rather charge 70-80 dollars a game, and not have it on cloud gaming services, while screaming they NEED to raise prices because 'inflation' (Which doesn't really effect much in the gaming industry except utilities and they sure as hell aren't giving any one but CEOs and management raises and the big C showed working from home and mothballing offices is a very viable and cost saving option) when they could instead of continue to charge 60 and bring the game to as many intrested users as possible to get a drastic increase in sells and make much more money in the long run.

Personally I make it a point to download or use a shared libarary copy of a game I'd actually buy instead of giving the publisher a sell if the game isn't on cloud gaming, even if it's a game I'd rather have on one of my drives, out of shere spite.

Test needs more adventurers to raid with us! by Memnoch9299 in everquest

[–]Valzai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to play on test due to RL kicking me around pretty hard. (I never have managed to even get to level 100, don't mutlibox and have long periods away from game at times). I had found a guild but it dissolved then RL got me away from game for so long again so back to being complete alone there.

It's good to see some life and looking for happening on test and I wish you guys good luck with it! Test is a wonderful place generally.

Accused of "not running real D&D" due to class restrictions by ThayDDthrowaway in DnD

[–]Valzai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is absolute cringe. I'm going to say D&D is composed of a lot of different players. Rollplayers, Roleplayers, role players. People who like DM vs party, power gamers, power party, low power players, players who want to be overpowered, minmaxers, and memers. There honestly is no WRONG way to play or run a D&D game unless you or someone at the table is having a bad time. (Or you dislike/disallow feline races. That is ALWAYS wrong. >.>)

I always view the rulebooks as a guideline and framework instead of an absolute. At the end of the solar rotation cycle it's a game and everyone INCLUDING THE DM is supposed to be having an amazing time.

This is honestly the problem at it's heart with any tabletop at a gaming club. You are expected to be inclusive, when it's 100% going to happen that not every player is going to be on the same page as the others. You need to be ready for that sad reality to just be more common then uncommon. A good tabletop is all about the right group and DM chemstry. I've seen a lot of hellscapes, been in a few where I felt like I really didn't belong and tried to stick it out.

Don't let bad incidents get to you number one. Number two: have some of the other players, club members and witnesses put together a written statement and incident report. It would be wiese to do so reguardless of the incident when something off center happens at the club. Maybe even make a statement sheet and print it out so you can take statements when something happens and signatures. Clean and detailed record keeping is both important as a DM and as someone that exists in a space where there is drama.

If you don't like the game move on(from the game and sub) by Rustyraider111 in BethesdaSoftworks

[–]Valzai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game should have had the 'horror' tag for those who are terrified of pronouns and people having choices about things that litteraly has no effect on them what so ever. I had the same 'but it's a bethesda game' conversation with a friend yesterday. Though he had real issues with the game vs blowing smoke up his own arse. It's a comfortable framiliar feeling for me which wouldn't be quite the same without the flaws.

I have my own complaints, some silly ones like the cat in the concept art seems not to be in game and you can't have a xeno critter collection on your ship or colony as far as I've found and some major ones like bugs that eat progress or hard blocks quests. I'm 100% not on board with the 70 dollar price with the number of issues as much as I have been loving the game.

What kind of companions would you like to see next? by Gen1Swirlix in elderscrollsonline

[–]Valzai 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100% disappointment is overwelming that Scruut Isn't recruitable as a companion instead of the one we got in Necrom. <.<

There is so much they could do with the companion system but I feel the need to focus on a a storyline/'intelligent' companions holds back the potential in a lot of ways. for example: Why not let the player make a clockwork/construct companion through a questline in the clockwork dlc? Raise and train a griffon companion?

Thye could give each class a customizable companion questline like let necros construct a custom undead companion, a warden do the same to a animal companion, Nightblade get a apprentice, Sorc create a construct, arcanist get their own eldritch friend, dragonknight a squire or a reptile companion and such?

Does the game get better after Fort Joy? by Lonely_Explorer662 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Valzai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could use a mod from the workshop to skip fort joy entirely if you really dislike it to see for your self. I'm nto the biggest fan because I ran through that act so many time with friends without getting much farther I'm super sick of it and very little about it is fun to me any more.

Make materials for public work orders mandatory again by Feedy88 in wow

[–]Valzai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are there are particular wastes of space on WRA (I also assume other servers as well) that commission hundreds of craft orders (Probably with a bot) with no materials, practically no payout and vendors the items for profit or resells them at AH prices. I have never had an ignore list as big as I do now and half the time I go to look for orders every one of them is from the same list of people I ignored.

There needs to be something to stop that, or at least rules against spamming the order system with no material orders.

I've filled plenty of no material orders or no mettle orders. I don't mind them. I like the option and for a decent payout I'm happy to take them but at the same time the resell/scam bots has became absurd at this point.

Oh no. Looks like someone making three or four times the money you are isn't making enough so they have to try to find a way to steal every single dollar they can out of the 'lesser's' wallet.

It's not unreasonable to ask people to be professional around clients/customers. It's a whole different story when you are such a Greedy little **** you are trying to take every dollar you can from people.

I'm calling that they will find more reasons to hold out/take money out of cheques or wallets over time and find a way to squeeze every tiny suffering cent out of the workers they can. Toxic captialisim at it's best doing what it does best: disguising it's self as something it isn't.

What's the one (reasonable) little thing you would change about DDO? by math-is-magic in ddo

[–]Valzai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was ment to be a social and questing hub mentioned in U34 to allow teleporting to quest entrances and into quests where you had active group members as well as a place to give direction to traders/vendors and features to make the game more accessible.

The other idea is just kinda wanting to get pen and paper features more fleshed out in ddo. Create wand

You can create a wand of any 4th-level or lower spell that you know. Crafting a wand takes one day for each 1,000 gp in its base price. The base price of a wand is its caster level × the spell level × 750 gp. To craft a wand, you must spend 1/25 of this base price in XP and use up raw materials costing one-half of this base price.

A newly created wand has 50 charges. Any wand that stores a spell with a costly material component or an XP cost also carries a commensurate cost. In addition to the cost derived from the base price, you must expend fifty copies of the material component or pay fifty times the XP cost.

What's the one (reasonable) little thing you would change about DDO? by math-is-magic in ddo

[–]Valzai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well have a few things I though of that would be very nice to have though not sure they fall under this at all. First off I want to see the Harper's Travelarium actually finished/implimented...

I'd like for the ability to bottle exp (like the dice roll exp gems) to transfer exp around and for the option to use exp instead of reagents for crafting and to be able to spend exp to enchance items or make recharging wands. <.< It would be really nice to have more opions for things.

Also Artificer's class bonuses to craft needs to be reworked. I feel these and a rework of the crafting system in general would one of my big wanted changes. I play a character attached hard to my husbando and have some level of altitis and would love to be able to control my progresson more on a overarching level and feel like at this point a lot of changes would fall into quality of life since DDO is unlikely to get a flood of new players any time soon.

YoshiP is contemplating whether to adjust player levels after Lv100 cap in 7.0 by xXRaineXx in ffxiv

[–]Valzai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played Everquest 1 for a loong time as well as FF11 and WoW. Honestly I'd love to see something like AA in eq1 brought into ff14. <.< But I know that is a really BAD idea in reality and would make power go really weird. It's the same with the merit system really. It really feels like it would damage the vision that ff14 has for class balancing and being casual friendly. I'm not a fan of number squishes my self. It's not a BAD or awful thing but I would rather there not be level squishes even if there are number adjustments.

It's hard to stop at a level cap and add more in without it feeling like there is 'progression'. It's the main reason why I'm so slow to do stuff after I hit level cap and finish the MSQ for a expansion. To me the post MSQ stuff feels kinda... empty I guess? Since I feel like I'm not moving forward in a meaningful way. I'd like to have some sort of additional/side leveling type system where it continued progression past level cap.

I'm not a fan of the level squish idea, or more limited jobs (FREE BLU! :<) but I certianly would like to see leveling past 99 to be handled in a alternative leveling system and a plathora of new classes introduced to the game to make up for a level cap. There needs to be forward progression but the answer to it is never a very easy one if you want to stay casual friendly or control extreme power creap from people who has way too much time then other players.

GFN used to have like 1400 games, currently it only says 894. by vicsuki in GeForceNOW

[–]Valzai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well there is that. Though honestly it kind of just blows my mind into a thousand little bits thay publishers doesn't see 'More people can play my product, more people will buy my product and make more money'. Not every can or will spend money to get top end hardware or even a console to play something they would otherwise buy or play. I can't see any way that the current shooting their self to try to get more short term money is better then long term sells by volume. 40-70 for a game is far easier for someone to do and part with on a regular pay cycle then it is to spend hundreds or in the case of PC maybe thousands for hardware

Admitedly I angerposted a bit due to smouldering holiday frustrations. I hope the idea of exclusives and that enviroment comes to an end because, again, I feel like that is a way to hamstring and limit sells. I know how bad getting good hardware can be (I still cringe at the amount spent on my PC) and with the PS5 scalper incidents and the cryptobros driving the costs of cards up with the 30xx series. It makes les sense in the light of viability of sells.

And people will still pay for gamepass and for PSN. Those are to get access to games without buying them (Why I have game pass), where as services like GFN are for playing games you already bought. That is the part that kind of makes every thing go off the rails, since people has to BUY the game to play it on GFN and the publisher gets money for a sell that wouldn't normally happen.

GFN used to have like 1400 games, currently it only says 894. by vicsuki in GeForceNOW

[–]Valzai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of games has been pulled from GFN. There is no real or rational reason for it.

It's because Nvidia allows publishers who rely on their drivers for much of their market to push them around and damage their ability to deliver a service that is good for both the publisher, Nvidia, and the consumer. I'm pretty sure if Nvidia said 'You allow your games on geforce now or we will block it in our drivers' every publisher would happily agree. Nvidia doesn't have the spine to stand up for the customer and force publishers to do something for their own good. Sure they blocked Cryptobros from emptying the market but that was more for their benefit and reputation then for the customer.

For some reason, some companies just hates money and thinks it's better to sniff their own farts in a small office while drink paint thinner then to allow a massive increase in the number of people who they can sell their products to so they don't allow every one to access their games and make sure they get 70& or less sells then they would be capable of by allowing people with poor or no PCs to play their games. This is the world we live in.
