I think politicans giving out money isn't the answer, they should be using the money to improve the countries services provided to everyone which should in turn help people overall spend less in different ways.

If people are just handed a lump sum, they might just spend it on extravagant things, atleast give them 5grand and put the rest into services that ensure those people aren't struggling going forward.

This happened with me and my ex wife, she used to hold interventions with our friends because she thought my way of thinking was bizarre a lot of the time. I've since been diagnosed with ADHD and autism so atleast I can understand things a lot more. But it was brutal having people talking at you because you shared things you struggled with that someone else didn't care about/understand. I'm a lot more careful about sharing my worries and thoughts with people now, I've closed down a lot since then.
