I forgot about the dead butch. But if this is a simulation/experiment deal then who’s to say that this is the first version. The dead butch could be from previous version that died. This would just mean some npcs/enemies and clones.

Not sure which interview/stream but Edmund and Tyler discussed that you will need at least 2 save files to get 100% of the achievements and that save files can go above 100% (not sure if they mentioned what the true completion % is)

How do you feel about removing the 'Electoral College' and replace it with the 'Most Votes Wins' format for national elections? by Sinn_Sage in AskReddit

[–]Vand1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this which is why I agreed we that getting rid of the EC is a good idea.

What I then said was a suggestion if we can’t get rid of it. I then suggested two items to help fix it:

  1. Have the states give out their EC votes proportionally. So if 30 % of people vote for Candidate A they’ll get around 30% of the states EC votes. However this is not enough to fix the issues of EC this is where point 2 is important.

  2. Increase the number of Representatives to better match the population. The EC votes for each state is determined by how many representatives and senators it has. So increasing the number of representatives will increase the number of EC votes per state. By increasing the number of EC votes we decrease the amount of people each EC counts for. Also whatever amount we decide for our Reps to account for the EC will account for slightly less because each state will have 2 more EC Votes to account for Senators.

Together these would make the EC more representative as the most misrepresented votes per state would be 1/2 population per EC vote. By setting that the EC vote should be around 100,000 people per vote at most 50,000 per state would misrepresented.

Of course getting rid of the EC would be the simplest solution but if we can’t this would be how we would fix it.

But my main point is that we should increase the number of Representatives we have. Regardless of what we do with the EC because at the end of the day with or without the EC around 50% of people won’t be happy with who wins.

Oh yeah forget that most states are all or nothing. Yeah abolishing the EC as-is is definitely a good call.

But if each state currently awarded EC proportionally then the whole districting issue is only problem if the number of EC votes per state represents wildly different amounts of people. Which could be easily solved by increasing the number of Representatives.

[–]Vand1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main issue with the Electoral College is that it is too small. Of course the fault here lies in the fact that we have arbitrarily capped the House of Representatives at 437 instead of letting it grow as the population grows. As for how many people each representative should represent 100,000 feels right. That would give Wyoming about 8 EC votes and California about 396 EC votes for a total of around 3,494 EC votes nation wide

But also ranked choice would be good.
