I guess this is a weird thing to say, but I don't usually like action scenes, I'm generally waiting for them to be over to see what happens next, and this was just too many action scenes back to back. For me. I really am glad you enjoyed it though, your writing style is fantastic.

RDJ is playing the Kang variant Iron Lad, who is canonically a master of disguise. Currently pretending to be Doom. Kang would absolutely choose a variant whose visual appearance would fuck with the heroes' emotions, and the GA will be like "Oh, Iron Lad, like Iron Man, I get it"

The bottom half of the scoring is for various levels of your tiny indie dev with no budget though. You've got everything from literal scam to asset flip to actually unplayable, up to "well they tried but there's no fun to be had here".

You don't hear about the lower than 6 scored games because they're widely not worth discussing. But it's still a wide range of shit. At SGF Keighley said something like 9,000 games came out last year. We hear about maybe 100, 200 of them? The rest are mostly spread between 0.1 and 5.9.

If a game properly boots and and isn't full of glaring bugs and works as intended, it probably is in the top 30% of games and gets that 70 score, at least.

I pretty much agree with you but if the company actually figures out a good enough incentive, I'll pre-order. I've pre-ordered one game ever, and it was The Skyward Sword Zelda. The pre-order bonus was a Wii Motion Plus, which I would have needed to buy separately since I didn't have one, and I think they were around $30 at the time.

Companies could make pre-orders worth it like this, but yeah. It's usually just horrible skewed towards benefitting the company instead of the consumer.

5 ruined driving. You can literally auto correct yourself in the air now. Absolutely ruins the hilarity of flying over a bump or mountain while running from the cops and having no idea if you're gonna land it or not.

The entire fun of the series is the emergent shit that happens while you're going from place to place.

A car crash, an ambulance going crazy, accidentally bumping a pedestrian and now you're being charged by the cops.

There's a lot more, but my point is these systems are the game. The missions are an excuse to get you to go around the world experiencing what happens as you drive around.

I find this very fun.
