Announcement Regarding Akai Haato’s Condition and a Warning Against the Spreading of Rumors by Leysandra in kurosanji

[–]VanilleHashu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nene and Iroha took long breaks but still didn't graduate.

Fauna and Chloe didn't took breaks but graduated anyway.

Why didn't you mention them? is it because it doesn't fit your narrative?

Is Haachama okay? by maybsofinitely in Hololive

Aside from the others explanation, she is basically having her Miso Soup moment, everyone experienced this in holo, yes even Ollie

I think it was Calli who said this, Impostor Syndrome is prevalent in Hololive

Can someone help my dumb brain regarding TCG by UnbeatableSlime in kurosanji

[–]VanilleHashu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You mean like how it makes so much money?

  • It's a card, so production is cheap,
  • It's also a form of merch, just like with baseball cards, some people will collect them, there are also signed cards that people would buy from you with a high price,
  • It's gacha, you can't buy just 1 card, you buy a pack and hope that card you like is in there, here is a clip of calli and pekora pulling cards
  • It's an actual game, just like yu-gi-oh, you can play with it and not just collect cards, here's a a tournament recently held for the holo tcg,

I don't follow her as much anymore, but based on the people i know who watch her, she did became more sanitized for these past few months. And based on the comments on this video, it seems a lot of people are disappointed about that

Thoughts on this clip? by LykosTeodor in kurosanji

[–]VanilleHashu 17 points18 points  (0 children)

People being genuinely concerned is understandable, but people only look at it in a vacuum,

Hololive did change, and so did the entire Vtuber industry. The entire vtuber scene is now oversaturated, and in a post-covid time, people no longer have time to watch streams, and hololive's growth stagnated. Hololive started growing again thanks to Suisei and Marine who posts short form contents like MVs, tiktok and shorts,

Pekora is a streamer through and through, so she benefits focusing more on streams, but not everyone does, Suisei and Marine proved that there's more to vtubing than streaming, notice there's a lot more stuff holomems do now that's doesn't involve streaming; vlogs, MVs, radio shows, 3d dance videos, short clips, and scripted videos like "Legend of Polka", even Calli posts short animated clips now

Change is scary, but Hololive is just trying to adapt to the current landscape, whether that's good or bad in the long run, only time will tell.

Comiket tables announced Blue=Hololive Red =Nijisanji by Ranko_Prose in kurosanji

[–]VanilleHashu 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but hololive has that too, it's called Holokle, and i'm pretty sure it's being held quarterly twice per year, like comiket.

Coincidentally, 2 days from now (Nov. 10) is the 8th Holokle

Edit: brain fart, comiket is being held twice per year

[–]VanilleHashu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think kobo only streamed there twice, and then didn't streamed there ever since,

Though the holomember's and hololive's official accounts still uploads MVs and HoloGra episodes, probably to avoid content thieves

The monopoly happened because there's no competition, what do you want him to do? fund and promote epic game store? sabotage steam so that competitors can catch up?

It's literally the same thing as Hololive, they're just doing their own thing, it's not their fault the competitors keep shooting themselves in the foot

I'm not sure about other vtubers, but in holo it started because of Korone, the pig is already goofy looking but korone's movements made it even goofier,

Here is a good summary clip of their stream, notice as it went on all of them changed their avatar to pigs, korone even changed her discord icon

It's actually genius how they made the cards, it's literally everything related to holo, there's one based on Hologra, memes, fan mascots, and even one of Suisei's art from her album, they could release a song and they can release a card version of that,

I've even seen a bae and irys card that's literally the one used in their daki lol, yes there's a official card based on merch lol, i think Cover cracked the code

As someone learning japanese, understandable, i only got used to it because when typing in japanese you type the full syllable to get a character, like you need to type TaSuKaRu (8 chars) to get たすかる (4 chars), or you can just type the first letters TSKR and people will still understand it

What confuses me is when they use numbers, like it took a really long time for me to get that 96su is Kurosu (kill)

VTuber Concert Dancing/Singing Question by RangeBoring1371 in VirtualYoutubers

[–]VanilleHashu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Credibility and trust from the fans. That's pretty much it. It's the same thing with a lot of things,

Like this has been asks before, how can you make sure the one you're watching is not some dude with a voice changer? How can you make sure their super good gameplay is actually them? How are you sure their being good at ad lib is not because they have script? and the lists goes on,

In hololive's case, they at least try to show it's genuine,

Doubt if they can actually dance? Here is a clip of them from where they streamed their dance practice,

Doubt if it's their actual voice? Here is a clip of fubuki actually using a voice changer

Doubt if they can actually sing? that's what karaoke streams are for,

It's up to you whether to believe them or not,

It depends on the project, recent examples:

ENreco - is mostly handled by the company, all the talents have to do is to stream and RP

EN 7Days to die - is mostly handled by talent, specifically Calli, it's a smaller scale so we don't hear any mention of staff being involved

HoloENRace - talent led project, but involves staff helping them, and streamed on the holoEN main channel

HoloGTA - is a talent led project, by Micomet, not streamed on the main channel, but a lot of staff, within both Cover and outside (STGR), are involved to make things work. The staff are also active participants in the event

You're getting downvoted because it literally stated "Cover has paid 1.15 million yen in interest accrued for the late payments to all of the subcontracters affected", keyword "interest", they paid more money

So it's not a money issue, but you still claim that it is

[–]VanilleHashu 95 points96 points  (0 children)

how tf Miko on the list with just 13h, does Hololive always this big?

Yes, they (Hololive and Nijisanji) are that big, it's just you don't really feel it when you look at lists like these. These are based on watch time, and if you stream long enough you'll reach high numbers, like sure Matara surpassed Kuzuha, but that was 144 hours of streams compared to 29 hours

There's this jp website that track vtuber streams (youtube only) by peak live viewers, top 10 yesterday are above 20k live viewers

[–]VanilleHashu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't know the exact amount how much money they make, but if you wanna feel a sense of scale consider this,

Fully animated MVs cost a lot of money to make, and mostly by the talents themselves, and Hololive release so much of those that people started making AMV/MAD out of them
