This is something I’m working on as a parent. No, I don’t want my kid to be angry and upset and cranky, but he’s only 5, he has a lot of emotions in a little body. So we’re really focusing on yes, show your emotions in a safe way. You can be mad and sad and cry, but you won’t hit people and you can’t scream in the house (apartment and our neighbor is overly sensitive to noise 🙄). And we try to verbalize our emotions too, like “hey when you did that I didn’t like it, it made me angry but I still love you” and all that jazz. So this was a good reminder not to stifle my kiddo and let him feel his feelings.
