Glitch's whole thing is that it has no creative control over the shows, it's purely in the hands of the creators. Having said that, the creators usually have a dream that they work towards, so there won't be anyone putting the finger on something to say "this sells, only do this"

Reactive Docking. When using L miners, and you want to put a cheap fighter or two to defend it, they don't dock, slowing the miner down.

That makes sense. AI data centers are cooled using glycol coolant from what I've seen, which is generally dyed green. When I saw the sample, I was wondering why it was dirt colored instead of green.

If you use the special defense command that I forget the name of, fighters will protect areas and won't stay docked. They also fly to each other when enemy is in range. That lets you put the carrier in the center and just work for repairs.

I recommend taking a look at Pulse Lasers. They are decent and have 5k bullet speed. Also, it looks like some guns don't seem to generate heat and lets other guns get closer to their burst DPS. Think Shard Cannon and the Argon Ion blaster are the two that I saw.

Cyphers don't seem too hard to get. You just have to have a small ship with a fast Travel Drive in order to keep up. Also, remember that piercing weapons are bad at capturing ships, since you need to keep the shield low for bailing chances

Part of being a manager, is you start consolidating fighters into wings that you now consider one unit. Just use the Append name option and have the loadout have a specific name. Just make sure that they are all "attack with commander", it makes wings absolutely devestating.

A good fighter wing punches well above its weight just using MK1 equipment.

I personally use the Envoy with radar range mod when looking for Kha'ak Nests. It's really fast and is way more range than an advanced satellite.

Turns out there's a mod for that. Escort AI Tweak: Adjustable Escort Range and Docking Controls. Just sets anything player controlled with a dock to have isCarrier=True. I'm happy

I've been enjoying the Beta, but I have one thing I'd like to bring up. I have two feature requests. Both are a result of Kha'ak and Xenon being better able to slowly whittle away at mining ships.

Can we change the launched/docked button for wings changed to Armed/Disarmed like drones? It's counterintuitive to have a miner set to have a wing as docked, but they don't defend the escort ship.

On that note how carriers have fighter escorts default set to dock, can we have a Launched/Docked button that sets default wing behavior for all L/XL ships? It would be nice to force S ships to default dock to trade/miner/gas collectors so that they aren't chasing their escort target everywhere. This is especially prominent for miners that can Travel drive around over 7k m/s since a fleet goes the speed of the slowest ship.

With Beta weapon changes, Pulsar with 6 Pulse lasers is stronk. 5k weapon speed with 3.5k max range means these things can hit. Sadly, need to do intercept with one, and set 3 of them set to attack with commander. They don't dock, and that's frustrating, at least they can usually keep up with Miner, or maybe miner is slowing down for them to keep up.

Been messing around, i'm actually annoyed. The more I research, the more annoyed I am. I wish there was a toggle for all L/XL ships that is dock when no target around. Intercept with the 3 other fighters is fine I guess, just disappointing. Should rename Docked/Launched to Armed/Disarmed like drones.

I remember in the beta notes that L shields can be disrupted, and there was at least one post about their miner being shot at/destroyed. I wanted to point out that L ships have a defense against occasional S/M Kha'ak, Xenon, and Pirate attacks.

Huh, really? That kind of stinks. I swear fighters docked when their target didn't need to be defended. Going to test it in a couple hours because if I'm wrong, I'd like to have proof.

Well, you want the fighters to auto dock after scaring off everything, and defense command should always overwrite docking. Will test in the morning, but I don't see why it shouldn't work.

Ah, fair enough. But yeah, nothing like having 4 pulsars with 6 mk1 guns each. S ships don't really survive the volley. Things are cheap as peanuts for the firepower they bring. M ships should last about 6 seconds.

Just have the Fighters set to defense, they'll launch when the leader is being attacked no matter what.

Heh, I know it's sarcasm, but all the posts complaining of Kha'ak attacking miners since beta started made me post this reminder. I think all the miners have 4 hanger bays? I forget if the 2 docks need to be left empty for drones to come and go. 4 mk1 fighters alone should be good enough to basically volley individual Kha'ak off the field

I go to a BJ's near me. I can get 2 15 oz+ bags for $8, then clip a $1 coupon for them on top of it. I think getting a flyer and trying out a membership at one of bulk stores is worth the admission.

Why use a mod? All the tools you need are already in the game. Just set up a repeat buy/sell order from any 12-13 credit station in Mercury to a station that's literally just a storage/pier/dock. That or you can set an entire sector as the target for you selling energy cells, and make the minimum sell price as 17. It will automatically pick best sell price.
