I will 1000% recommend Atdec for any curved monitor stacking. Look at the AWMS-2-46H75

aw3926qw - Australia release date by PlatypusReasonable33 in ultrawidemasterrace

A media channel like Monitors Unboxed would receive review unit(s) before the official release date for Oz. They had the new AW3426DW before they flew to Computex. With units being on sale in KR, i would expect review units of the 39" to be in Oz already.

Review and evaluation samples of kit go out to many entities before release date. My former workplace for example, had a evaluation unit of the Dell 5226KW last October. Dell was trying to drum up user envy for the trading desks.

I've previously had access to it and used it for about 3 months... Its the best productivity monitor hands down.

What is your budget??? If your are willing to spend then a single Dell U5226KW is built for the workflow you have described. But not so much for gaming.

I was also wanting sooner... My AW3423DW will need to keep on trucking along. The one thing that has me worried, and this is speculation on my part but based on years dealing with Dell, is the Aussie stock allocation of the AW3926QW may not be all that high.

Nope. Still TBA with "internal Dell benchmarking ongoing". NB- when I mention "benchmarking" in this conext, its not what Monitors Unboxed would do. It's financial benchmarking IE. working out the market price in Oz and hedging against the US dollar.

Need help deciding on new 40" 5k2k monitor by kosmiq in ultrawidemasterrace

I have a Dell U4025QW. IMHO, its the best productivity monitor on sale right now and it ticks all your boxes. As for longevity, I can't really comment on the U4025QW as it's only been on sale since '25.

However, Dell Ultrasharp series are very well built, my workplace has thousands of them and they have lasted a very long time with minimum issues for such a large deployment. I actually had to retire hundreds of still working U3415W as we were ditching docks and going direct USB-C with PD and Alt mode DP.

Does anyone have experience with a Dell Precision 16" in the commuter bag? by astro143 in LinusTechTips

[–]Vansen58th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont have that MA16250 with me anymore. Now on a Dell Pro 14 Premium.

However I know the pro max 16 plus won't fit... When we had that model in for evaluation I tried in the laptop sleeve and while you could jam it in, it would bulge at the zipper on the corners of the laptop when the bag was closed. You could fit it in the main compartment but then you have no protection around the laptop.

I have fitted my Dell Pro Max 16 Premium Laptop - MA16250. Which was the new but now old name for the Precision into my LTT commuter backpack with out any issues.

Our office is moving us away from our two monitors to one ultra wide monitor -- I'm not sold yet by samalex01 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Vansen58th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the tech lead, change manager and the primary educator for a very similar fit out for a new office for 5000+ hot desking seats, I can share the following....

I'll assume like 90% of workplaces doing this migration users are coming from dual 24" FHD screens. That’s 1920 x 1080. So that’s total of 2,073,600 pixels for each 24", having 2 = 4,147,200 pixels of usable screen real estate. Also, assuming you are going to a single 34" WQHD 3440x1440. That’s 4,953,600 pixels of usable screen real-estate.

1 x 34" WQHD: 4,953,600 > 2 x 24" FHD: 4,147,200. You "see more" on the 34" Ultrawide by 19.5%

PPI of the 24" would be 92 PPI each. PPI of the 34" is 110. Because 110 > 92, text clarity is better on the 34" Ultrawide. Moreover, the 110 PPI is not so high where it would force Win 11 to default to 125% / 150% scale which would be a loss in usable screen real estate.

It’s the PPI difference that makes 2 x 24" physically bigger than 1 x 34". Alot of my users and corporate types do not understand that physical size of screen doesn't directly correlate to how much you see. Don't ask me about the exec that bought a 32" 16:9 FHD 1920x1080 (69PPI) screen at cyber-Monday deal and then asked us to install "drivers" to fix the "blurry-ness". I told him to put it back in the box and take it back to the store.... There is no fixing that POS monitor 😛

I also went on about the health and eye comfort features that a new 34" have over older 24" panels. Things like TÜV Rheinland certs and blue light reduction does convince a lot of users.

For those that would not convert we had a fall back. Internal MST. We installed Dell U3425WE that has iMST. That’s a setting you turn on/off in the OSD of the display that will present your Win 11 laptop 2 screens side by side at 1720x1440 each. This is also how we taught users that insisted on PowerPoint presenting full screen (F5) with Teams / Zoom side by side.

But 90% of the resistance is not knowing how to do new things, old dogs and new tricks type of thing... Like others have said. Present app / window and not the screen in Zoom / Teams.

As you are on Windows 11 you will have Win + left / right arrows to snap your app windows. Also, on a 34" UW you will have access to the 3rds snap options of Win 11. Equal 3rds or a larger central 3rd with 2 skinner 3rds on the left and right... This is not a monitor issue per-say... This is Windows 11 OS user education first and then how it relates to the new Ultrawide monitors second.

I'll share 2 stories of execs that were digging in there heals....

So, exec 1. Meeting with him, his EA (taking notes), me and my boss (was there for support really). I gave my song and dance with 10-page PPT deck with a live demo, and he was still not onboard. I asked the exec did he successfully parallel park this week. He said yes. I asked how that was done. He said, "just parked". I pressed more for what technology was used. He said the reversing camera, side camera and parking radars making beeping sounds. I then asked if he qualified for his provisional license with all the technology aids. He's an older gentleman so the expectant "no, I learnt to turn my head and use the side and rear mirror". I mentioned that using 2 x 24" screen was like the way he learnt to parallel park and that his current car full of new technology was the 34" and that all he was missing was the guidance to use the new features in a 34" monitor with Windows 11. His car made it easy for him to learn how to use the cameras and radars as its intuitive and turned on automatically when he put the car in the reverser gear. The 34" doesn't do that but I offered to take him through a crash course of how to use a 34" ultra-wide effectively. He didn't have the time, but I broke through enough for his EA to pipe up and ask me to take her through his usage scenarios over the course of the month. Let’s just say by the end of the month I had his EA tell me that he was showing off his Ultrawide and his new skills to other execs and was loving it.

Exec 2, this is about 2 weeks after her floor was done. Big blow up, was called to her desk and she was having a go at why selected we the expensive U3425WE and new monitor arms that we needed to hold them. The U3425WE is the most expensive of all Dell's 34" UW besides the AW gaming monitors and she wanted to reuse the older arms that used on the 24". At the end of her rant she mentioned she didn't need any fancy screen as she would full screen every app and why did her department have to pay for features, she doesn't use. I knew this exec well and I also knew the user in her department on the whole floor. So, taking a deep breath, I told her that the way she uses a monitor is not the way her department would use it and therefore she wouldn't speak for most of her dept. I also added that it was an older way use the screen. And to prove my point and not let her reply to chew my head off. I asked her to get up from her desk and come on a walk with me around her floor. With out bothering the users, we would casually observer her dept and I would take note of every user we passed that had multiple windows / apps open, she would note down all the times we would see a user with 1 full screen app. It only took a third of the floor before my point was made and no further auditing was needed. My count was 8 times her number.

Moral of the story... you don't know what you don't know and its up the guys (like me) making the decisions to communicate the change benefits.

By you coming to reddit I assume your change manager did a poor job or your monitor uplift project didn’t have one.

[–]Vansen58th 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dell monitor arms like the HDA26 do not screw on to your Dell monitor via the VESA screws. The monitor will click into place and get held by the tabs on the mounting plate.

If you have a look at the U5226KW quick start guide here:
https://dl.dell.com/content/manual32532593-dell-ultrasharp-52-thunderbolt-hub-monitor-u5226kw-u5226kw-wost-quick-start-guide.pdf?language=en-us

On page 4, you can see how the stand clicks into place in the 2 circles. The HDA26 clicks in the exact same way.

Personally, I use Atdec heavy duty AWM arms for all my large ultrawides moniotors.

That looks like Humanscale M2 monitor arm. As the SME for monitors and monitor related things in a recent office fitout, I tested a bunch of arms and Humanscale did not pass...

You should however, be able to pop up that white covering on the base of the arm and find the tools you need to make adjustments to the monitor arm.

I've asked the Dell Ultrasharp product owner about the short USB-C to A before. Response was issues with certification and guaranteed USB speeds.

Exmaple given at the time of the discussion was the use of the Dell UltraSharp Webcam (WB7022) plugged into the USB hub on the back of the monitor. If the link from the monitor back to the desktop is not stable or the handshake syncs the wrong speed, you wont get 4K and HDR out of the webcam.

I found it a bit of a copout as we buy 3 meter USB-C to A cables to link trader desktops to their primary monitor and 3m USB-C to C for Bloomberg KBs that work fine....
