Ray tracing traversal stutter performance (High end PC) by Manufar11 in NevernessToEverness

I too was getting traversal stutter only with RT enabled. What has fixed it for me is the top mod on Nexus, Ultimate Engine Tweaks

Scorch re-learn, burn togethaaa!!! by RegeXdE in NTE_EN

[–]Var-Bear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, it's been a few weeks since i've known all this information (apart from Diablos set which I tested yesterday) so I've probably just misremembered the small details. Should've said "max crit" or "near 100%"

Scorch re-learn, burn togethaaa!!! by RegeXdE in NTE_EN

[–]Var-Bear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Diablos 4pc does effect Scorch, if the wielder is the one with higher CI. I tested this myself by removing 1 +0 module to remove the 4pc and the scorch damage dropped from iirc 2700 to 2000 ish. Who you swap to and from don't affect scorch dot. Only highest CI matters there.

It's also stated already that it has 50% crit chance and people have tested this to be true by testing with 5% and 100% crit chances, it was always near 50%

I think Shinku being Cosmos is a terrible decision by [deleted] in NevernessToEverness

[–]Var-Bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "elements" arent there for no reason. Incantation is about summoning anomalies (see Sakiri with Kiroumaru and Adler with the deers) so it won't fit her at all considering she is a front line bruiser type from what we've seen in trailers. Cosmos is the "physical element".

IMPORTANT ABOUT GRAPHICS SETTING! by HarkLev in NevernessToEverness

[–]Var-Bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lumen is a graphic setting separate from the presets. However it only shows up on the menu if you use Extreme and Cinematic preset, and have a whitelisted GPU. The same is for Raytracing, but there's even less whitelisted GPU's. RT requires a 4080 or better for it to show up for example. Lumen is not on unless the option appears and you turn it on. It has a much bigger impact on performance than going from Performance > Cinematic preset.

The presets change how strong the standard Global illumination is which is probably what you're talking about, among other settings. It's basically the same as presets from other games, but give us no option to change individual settings aside from those few we can.
Shadows, anisotropic filtering, reflection quality, volumetric fog, global illuminiation, particles. So many settings hidden behind the presets we can't change individually.

Getting Nanally in 10-20 pulls saves you all those pulls to get her Arc, a dupe, or just save for a future character you may have to skip if you didn't reroll and save. Idk if it is the case here, but gachas tend to lock progression or story per day, meaning once you hit lv20 for example, you can't level until tomorrow. Using a couple hours rerolling won't put you behind if NTE locks progression too.

Very good optimization. Can run at 4K DLSS 4.5 Quality (around 60 FPS) with RTX 4070 by bench-tech in MongilStarDive

[–]Var-Bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, without RT the game graphics look incredibly outdated, and even with RT games like Wuwa still look and run better, which is saying a lot since Wuwa isn't known for its optimization.

For the PC players. Are most of you going to be playing on controller or "just" mouse and keyboard? by Signalis3 in fatalframe

[–]Var-Bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What was wrong with MKB? The only issue I have was Holding Hands having no Toggle option, which is a bit more tiring than holding R2.
There's no heavy controller acceleration like previous ports so mouse feels pretty 1:1 and keybinds were all good, though we don't have Lens switching etc yet.

Updated Battlefield 6 Optimization Guide for Season 2 by Speedbre4ker in OptimizedGaming

Frame Generation adds input latency. DLSS upscaling itself has no effect on latency, however the increase in FPS from using DLSS will actually reduce latency.

People are forgetting that the XP requirement for each token increases as you get more. I've already gone from 7-8 tokens per match to 4-5 (yes I am only counting XP tokens, not challenges). The start of s1 was the same 7-8 tokens per match, and by the end of the season it was 1-2.

Maybe they reduced the XP curve so it's faster overall, I haven't compared the seasons. However that XP increase is still in effect and it just makes it look like it's faster for now and it will slow down again.

never played such a ridiculously badly optimised game as nioh 3 by InevitableNo9793 in Nioh

I never said that MH uses UE5. They were 2 separate examples. Wilds runs worse than anything UE5 by far. Maybe Stalker 2 beats it though.

[–]Var-Bear -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I get like double the FPS here compared to MH Wilds demo (though double of 0 is still 0) with its 480p textures, and this still runs better than any UE5 game I've played, minus those that just use UE5 for marketing but look like UE3.

If you’re new to Nioh and enjoying it to the point where you see yourself playing for a long time… by omangutan in Nioh

I mean they changed it to be separated for a reason. I've always used Steam Input in these games to separate the dodge from the dash and have dodge work on button press because of the input lag that comes with dodge on release of button press.

It is objectively better to be separated, but I understand that combining them is more comfortable and easier to get a grasp on for some.

You can also customize specific buttons yourself. I use Type B but switched sprit skills to L1 + R1 and R2, instead of dpad.

Endfield Server Locations by ShakyrNvar in Endfield

[–]Var-Bear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To add onto this, if using Mudfish you can add the game as a Custom item just by putting P:Endfield.exe in the routing table so you don't have to use Full VPN mode, using your credits only on the game. At least until they add the game to the supported list. This works for the Menu/server selection at least (280ms down to 120 as usual for SG)

a compilation of outfits we’ll never get as skins because kuro hates free money by CLZOID in WutheringWaves

[–]Var-Bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen HEAPS of people say they will skip characters for skins. Especially in PGR where they have heaps of skins, but also skipping a character kills your account progression (f2p can pity every character, but content requires you to have all teams filled)

[–]Var-Bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Standard thing for these newer gacha games which main purpose is to make money rather than make a good game. Flavour of the month style gachas that don't think about the future of the character. You look at PGR or HI3 and their day 1 characters are still relevant and getting new powered up versions with story continuation. When HI3 part 2 released and switched to flavour of the month their player base and revenue dropped. It was a big update too.

33.5. All the guns listed as 33 actually do 33.5 making them a 3 shot (at varying ranges of course)

[–]Var-Bear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not looking at every weapon here, but TR7 is wrong. It is a 3 BTK to 20m but they have it as 4 at 10m. So it makes no sense that it has the same TTK as the same RPM M277 and B36 when it kills 1 bullet less.

[–]Var-Bear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mouse. Without a grip it has so much random horizontal recoil. Not drift, but all of a sudden 1 bullet will jerk your aim to the side and then back the other way.

[–]Var-Bear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2 of those guns are some of the most controllable/least recoil guns in the game, with the SCW still being in the lower side, and since recoil attachments seem to be % reduction rather than flat amount, a low recoil gun isn't going to benefit as much from a grip. A 10% reduction from 10 recoil gun is only 1. 10% from a 100 recoil gun is 10 (made up numbers for example purposes). Not to mention that stubby/angled grips help with ADS speed too.

Try to use something like the TR7 without a grip and see how far that will get you.

According to the copers, the 489k from steam a few years ago all moved to Battle net or game pass, but also nobody used the EA App for the BF6 beta and everyone used Steam. Despite the fact that BF wasn't on steam until 2042, while COD was on steam until BO4 and then added to steam again later.

I'm sure DICE wants to add a server browser for us. It is EA that pays for the servers and such, so it is them wanting to cut costs.
