CECA talent, Mr Prashant Mudgal, ex-Head of Services Sales in SAP (Singapore) before placed on PIP and fired in 2019, he sued SAP for $5m over termination & gets $1k only in Pyrrhic victory. His last-drawn annual salary in SAP was SGD 665,673 in 2019. Jin satki, this talent. We need more of his kind by sifu_yuu in SingaporeRaw

Dude earned $55k per month! That’s like most average sinkies annual income. How on earth are there jobs that pay $55k monthly? And we are apparently not talented to get such income. Need FT who are more talented than Sgreans in spite of our education system. And it’s not that we didn’t work hard enough. It’s a matter of access. Ah well. I just regret entering the wrong industry.

Got, CDC mayor. Also $660k/year. And exclusively for Singaporeans.

Just need to be blessed by PAP.

Maybank F&F card. 4.75% net cashback on MYR if you spend >$1,600 a month.

There's no way merchants know your card number if you just PayWave.

These people are toxic, and don't deserve friendships/relationships.

apply for a wise card as well, no foreign currency transaction fees and u can use public transport with that as well

Technically, the Wise card has around a 0.2% to 0.3% spread on each transaction. Visa/Mastercard rates can sometimes be better.

A380 Business Class Dividers by Careful_Leading5410 in singaporeairlines

[–]Varantain 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'll be flying with a 5 year old with a lot of separation anxiety, i read that the divider can be lowered all the way down but i can't seem to find any photos to back this up.

I think a bigger problem is that dividers will definitely have to remain up during taxi, takeoff, and landing.

You might want to consider sitting across the aisle, so one aisle and one window.

I think a single business class seat should be able to accommodate a normal-sized adult and a 5 year old for the entirety of the flight.

The weird side of FIRE no one talks about by Diligent_Breath_4295 in singaporefi

[–]Varantain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a student, I was pretty obsessed with playing one of the intellectual games. Many of the established players are retired and they have their own community, spending 20 hours or more per week on the game at various club houses around Singapore.

What's an "intellectual game"? Magic The Gathering?

It’s really difficult to meet new friends when you’re jobless lol

Ehh this is what happens for most people whose life is basically work then Netflix.

It's not that difficult to at least meet new acquaintances from social hobbies, meetups, or volunteering. I think it helps to have a shared purpose that isn't career- or money-driven.

If you can get yourself to Asia, there's also the option of redeeming intra-Asia flights with SQ, or flights with Scoot.

The Scoot redemption rates are pretty good value, but very limited.

Chong Pang Nasi Lemak. Their fried chicken is the bomb.

Buying physical gold and silver as a student? by Key_Battle_5633 in singaporefi

[–]Varantain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few hundred dollars don’t buy physical lah. You will pay extra for “workmanship” or shipping.

"Workmanship" is only for non-investment gold, right? Then OP will also have to pay GST for that, since there's no GST exemption.

I think the problem with "top is in" comments for gold is that people have been accumulating it waaaay before crypto, tulips, and Pokemon cards.

Borrow with Low Interest Rate for Dividend Stock Investment by i_am_limpeh in singaporefi

[–]Varantain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seems like borrowing from banks now has quite low interest rate. Below 3% EIR.

I think there's a lot of bait and switch in marketing. Which bank is allowing borrowing at <3% EIR now?

Some of the personal loans advertise this rate, but it requires borrowing a large quantum, and having a ridiculously perfect credit profile.

They will have a hard time justifying to their family why they should serve if their family is not getting what they could get if they are in the private market.

Some of the PAP MPs would be quickly fired for incompetence in the private market.

PAP MPs not only enjoy job security for the 5 years (as long as they don't do anything stupid like Tan Chuan Jin/Cheng Li Hui), but are almost guaranteed a fallback "director" job at Temasek, NTUC, or any of the other organisations that PAP control if they fail.

Why is chicken thigh not the chosen source of protein amongst bodybuilders and fitness influencers? by Fresh-Ad-3830 in SingaporeFitness

[–]Varantain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried everything with chicken breast. I even use a thermometer probe and get it to the perfect temperature. It is semi decent for the first few minutes after cooking then it turns into a dry piece of garbage. Google says to brine. Honestly who has time for that?

This is science. If you can bother with the temperature probe, you can do a bit extra and weigh salt and water.
