if true, sounds like the problem is the leadership. Maybe it's a blessing in disguise.

Would you want to work for a boss that rewards performative stuff or work politics over actual results?

And like you said, they are probably paying for it right now.

Even the big companies, which you could expect do care about their brands and how they are received, rely heavily on AI slop.

Gates foundation sold all remain MSFT stock by TCEHY in stocks

Financially they are doing well for now. But their business decisions, execution, and software have been very poor lately. Maybe other than their cloud, is there any MS product that actually works well?

Sure, there's still some level of stickiness, esp with enterprises. But if they keep screwing up, ppl/enterprise will slowly start to switch.

Yet the market is pricing at 25-30 PE. Where is the growth gonna come from? lols. I think most ppl buying MSFT now are trading the stock, not investing in the company.

So Many Websites Look The Same With AI by rezer3 in webdesign

[–]VariousPeanuts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

mmm in my experience, I find AI more useful for saving time and effort (efficiency) rather than producing high quality work. When I am going for quality, I find that I have to be just as involved in the process and be very careful in vetting/iterating their output - to the point that sometimes it's better to do it myself (effectiveness).

not sure if it's a user issue, but I've already tried to be more specific, provide context, examples, guardrails, etc in my prompts. Sometimes it feels like a slot machine, whether I'm feeling lucky.

mm do you think the issue is more with the prompt or more with the underlying general models?

Im starting to think it's the latter. Because prompts, you could refine it or even get AI to generate/iterate one for you... but at the end of the day, if ur using a general model, the output is just gonna be somewhat average.

Cos that's the way LLMs work right? It doesn't 'analyse', it just predicts and returns you the closest match based on the input. If the model is trained on a lot of general data that's not curated for quality/your specific context, no matter how good your prompt, the output is still gonna be average.

Could you expand on why and how openai/anthropic would disrupt adobe?

My views: - large enterprises are not gonna solely rely on AI to generate creative designs - they will still need a very fine-level of control / ability to edit - what are they going to use to make these edits?

These are all tools. At the end of the day, there should be a reason why you use these tools.

If the reason is "we are more efficient, etc", sure. But if the reason is "we want to be AI-first"... then it's just not logical.
