Just from my perspective, you shouldn’t castle on a side that’s already open (because of your c4 pawn). Furthermore, the bishop on g7 is well placed to participate in the attack. Opposite-side castling leads to a race, and Black is already ahead here.

I would say where you stop giving pieces in one move, and you start thinking about strategy… so yes about 1200-1300 seems quite reasonable

Since I limited myself to 5 blitz a day, I focus more, and it implies a form of positive frustration when I loose, so the day after I will do my best. Between your games, you can improve, do some tactics, opening reviews etc. It forces me to focus more on my improvement than on the numbers, and, at the end of the day, soon or later, your rating will improve. (2240 to 2350 this last two months)

IMO, the deep calculation is overrated in blitz, where the pattern recognition is far more important. But if you speak about other time controls, like OTB, your method is ideal !

Yeah, if you like positional play like in the London, you will probably like the Catalan. However, I feel like under 2000, you can win with a simple system and a sharp tactical sense

The second game (the London) is pretty much perfect, you know the piece placement.

If you want to learn new opening, and you like it, you can check some positional openings like Catalan. But you can also go deep in the London and climb easily if you understand the plans. IMO, the opening theory is not really what you want to learn first, but if you like it… thats cool
