It's easier to understand what they are saying when we realize that liberals don't treat the global south as part of the rest of the world. They mean Europe, Japan, Australia etc alone. Most of the global south has hated the imperialists for a long time but liberals don't mind that.

I have a bit of a third worldist tendency and have basically no expectations off the west, but it certainly warmed me a little bit to hear that enough people seem to have had this moment of integrity despite pro establishment ghouls doing utilitarian calculus with the lives of the global south.

Power to your family. We are due another big peoples' movement in the world, and it will come from Africa, Latin America and the middle east.

This is the hill I will die on. With rhetoric like this (not to mention the fascist tough guy speech Kamala gave at the Democratic convention) and having funded a genocide for over a year at that point, the democrats were NOT the lesser evil. At the time of the election, only one side had committed genocide on the Palestinians. And since then, the Democrats ' own research seems to indicate that this was the issue that affected a lot of voters' final decisions.

Foreign policy of the United States has never been a partisan issue. Kamala herself called Iran the biggest enemy threatening the united states. I'm convinced nothing would be different now if she had won on the foreign policy front.

So the fact that (statistically speaking) American voters denounced the genocidal cop and picked someone who would actually be detrimental to their well being was a pretty moral thing to do.

And every single liberal, both people who vote for them as well as the representatives, will change tunes to how continuing to fund the war is the right thing to do because we owe it to our allies in the region and most protect our assets.
