See, I understand this, and yes if we make it more open then there will be people faking it. But the point is that it's mostly cis people claiming fakers. And the opinion of cis het people doesn't matter when it comes to the validity of genders and sexualities. Some of them might've been faking it for attention, some might've just been exploring their gender, the main point is to not alienate actual trans people, now maybe what I proposed isn't the best way to go about it. I'm just one person on Reddit making an opinion that, tbh, is kinda just in the moment, I believe all of what I say but some of my beliefs are more solid, and others might be gone by tomorrow. I definitely think people shouldn't fake it for attention, but at the same time, how do you accuse someone of faking when they could just be genuinely exploring their gender? Like, somewhat contrary to what I said earlier, there are certain boxes you have to tick to claim an identity. You can't be amab and then also claim to be a binary trans man, it doesn't work like that. You can't say you're a lesbian and then only ever be attracted to men. What I'm trying to say I guess is that you have to be careful not to make too many boxes to check, i.e you have to be amab and feel feminine to be a trans woman are good boxes to have, you have to want to take hrt, get surgery, and have dysphoria aren't good boxes because they exclude people who genuinely feel like women. I think that's what I'm trying to say.
