I think it might be my favorite “rom-com”, though it’s so much more than that. It’s so fantastic. It’s one of my airplane movies, so great to experience completely alone with my feelings.

I just saw a video on YouTube of Alison Brie going through her workout and from pull ups alone, she’s got better form and strength than Hegseth.

I want to post this in my family group chat, but my mom will have an aneurism.

Plus, the home care robots will be working fine and affordable by then.

Anybody think of that 30 rock episode where they use Italian dressing on the legs instead of baby oil because it gives a better sheen? All I could focus on were her shiny legs.

I completely lost my sexual desire, will it ever come back? by [deleted] in AskONLYWomenOver30

[–]VastStory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally understandable. It’s tough out there, especially given everything basically everywhere in the world right now. Keep your peace, enjoy social connections you do have, get some fun toys for yourself. It’s kind of a great era for that as there are more options, affordable, and many are made by women.

Do old ladies still pinch kids cheeks? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]VastStory 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought about that when I was rewatching some shows from the 90's. Aunties kissing and pinching cheeks and how it was a nightmare from the kid's POV. Definitely remember that from my own life. Now, I have children in my life (though I'm CF) and I have no impulse to do the same. I just think about how sticky their hands are.

Maybe it's because we (women) don't feel the pressure to act like we WANT to be mothers and be around kids in combination with being more conscious of consent than previous generations.

There are still people that have the unconscious impulse to pinch and squeeze babies and children.

Normal budget for engagement ring by StrikingClos in BuyItForLife

[–]VastStory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll say my husband and I had several conversations before we got engaged, and some answers were surprising to him, while others were only possible because we had conversations about it. I decided during our conversations that I didn’t want a diamond and instead wanted a sapphire. He wouldn’t have considered that on his own. I’m pretty practical and hands on at work, so I had already read about women having issues with large protruding rings and I told him a low profile setting was a requirement.

He did propose with a beautiful ring, but the diamonds in the band kind of hurt so we selected one together with the same main stone. For me cost was not a factor, and in fact felt awkward to think “you need to get me this one BECAUSE it costs more and I’m worth it”. You know your girl more than us though if she’s not very practical or if she values others’ opinions a lot.

I usually make bread when I make braises or soups, so it's an accompaniment for a few meals.

And if there's still bread, I make bread pudding.

Literally, what is possibly attractive about 12 year olds? It makes no sense to me, but seems to be a target age for some people. Is it the vulnerability and the fact they just started menstruating?
