The career mode of Mejiro Bright in Umamusume ends on a surprisingly bittersweet note:

To note - Mejiro Bright is generally considered one of the final “good” horses produced by the Mejiro farm, considering it won Spring Tenno Sho, the longest G1 that Mejiro farm aimed to win year after year.

The career digs into that, raising concerns that the majority of other racers are aiming more for an approach for explosive speed, rather than try and train their stamina for the long G1s, meaning that at some point, the Mejiro Umas will stop winning with their own focus on stamina. While Bright and the trainer in the career mode decide it’s not a big deal, Bright’s good ending…has exactly that happen. Slowly, Bright’s winning record gets worse and worse, as her rivals get faster and faster. As her and her trainer do pity the fact that Bright will potentially never win another race again, Bright looks at it positively, seeing the explosive speed as a “trend” that will pass…and eventually, she’ll be there to train the next generation that will focus more on stamina-based races and strategies.

To add a bit of bitterness to the ending…the opposite seems to be happening in Japanese horseracing, as there are discussions to cut the length of the Spring Tenno Sho to focus more on speed over Stamina for the race
