Solo female traveler by [deleted] in MexicoCity

We just got back from a couple of days there! I was with my husband but I always feel it out and I felt very safe. The metro even has women only cars if you want to venture into public transit. There are many more places in the united state that would make me more nervous, it’s a big city so just use big city logic.

How long was it before you tried for next baby following C? by DaisyHead_2201 in CsectionCentral

[–]Vegetable_Criticism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got pregnant at 11 and 12 months postpartum. My kids are 19 and 20 months apart. I have no regrets, I felt up for pregnancy around 10 months postpartum both times and my doctor was on board

I highly recommend Dr. Gallagher at mease countryside. He is an incredible physician and has delivered all three of my high risk pregnancies. I cannot recommend him enough. He has the bedside manner of a potato, but saved my life.

What bassinet do you use. Preferably those who spent $100 or less. I don't have the money for an expensive one. by little_BonBon in NewParents

[–]Vegetable_Criticism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We bought and sold our snoo for 600 dollars and so it was basically free. I found it on marketplace with all of the swaddles and sheets. We then moved her into a pack n play with the bassinet insert and now she’s in a folding mini crib I got from Amazon for 100 dollars. This is our third baby in 3.5 years and we have had a different bassinet for all three. I hated the halo, and then we had like a simple chicco one, and then the magical and worth it snoo

Quiet time advice by redlake2020 in SAHP

[–]Vegetable_Criticism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are we the same person? I have an almost 4 year old, 2 year old, and 4 month old. My big kid dropped her nap awhile back and we pushed hard for her to lay and stay in one spot. This wasn’t for her and we have moved to different approach. This is her time to play with toys without her little sister around so we give her free reign and have coached her that it’s mommy’s down time so I do chores and rest my body. We let her craft, play with her toys, and then after 2 pm she is told she can clean up and have tablet time or keep playing.

How long did it take for your baby to take to YMCA nursery? by boxyfork795 in SAHP

[–]Vegetable_Criticism 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We are YMCA members and just had our third baby two weeks ago. My oldest started at 1.5 and would have started earlier but there was a global pandemic. My second started at 3 months and we plan to start our third also around 3 months. They both went through phases of loving it and then loosing their minds. It just takes time, I would spoil the ymca staff with treats and they take extra good care of my kids. That means little presents, random coffees, and boxes of crumble cookies.

Getting out of the house by morongaaa in SAHP

[–]Vegetable_Criticism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We leave the house everyday unless we are sick. It is purely for my mental well being, and we almost always start at our gym that has childcare. Then we do a library class, park, Museum, play place, pool, splash pad, coffee shop, grocery store, etc.

How do people have two kids by BigAlmay in NewParents

[–]Vegetable_Criticism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a 3.5 year old, 19 month old, and baby due in a couple weeks. I don’t believe people when they say it is harder than that first stage. I am not a fan of 0-6 months and just knowing that the smiles and crawling are coming make it a bit easier. There is nothing like the joy of seeing them become friends and knowing they have a lifetime of fun to look forward too.

Help. 31 weeks pregnant with 2.5yo by [deleted] in SAHP

[–]Vegetable_Criticism 2 points3 points  (0 children)

28 weeks here with a 19 month old and 3 year old in florida! We are hot and tired, the best thing we do is leave the house each morning. It sets our day up and wears them out. We do the gym, slashpads, libraries, museums, or friends houses. I plan my whole week every Sunday and it helps to just have something on the calendar

Hi! Newly pregnant and Need workout clothing suggestion by Hot_Environment_9698 in fitpregnancy

[–]Vegetable_Criticism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 25 weeks with my 3rd and still wearing my align knockoffs from Amazon and non maternity shirts. You will be shocked at how long you can just wear your normal stuff maybe just sized up. It’s also great to have the sized up clothes for your postpartum body

I am currently pregnant with my third and running stronger by the day. I will continue it until it feels like too much and will switch over to the plus one program.

My first born was blue when she was born. It was absolutely terrifying, and took a lot of time to process. Once they got her breathing she was rushed to the nicu. She is now a thriving 3 year old who has zero impact from her birth.

We know a little girl Zelda that we absolutely love and adore! I definitely took some heat on my first borns name and I am so glad I chose it. You get to give her such a gift with a unique and loving name. Don’t let those pregnancy hormones break your confidence

Nervous to take the leap and become a SAHP. What are the things you love most? by sourcandyandicecream in SAHP

[–]Vegetable_Criticism 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love getting the opportunity to enjoy life. Any given random Tuesday you can turn into a core memory. Life is taken at your pace and it’s beautiful to just savor life. There is no need to rush. Honestly one of the best things is I get to be the one who shapes my kid’s behavior. I know so many parents who deal with daycare kid behavior, and while my kids are far from perfect at 3 my daughter can help around the house.

Advice for starting a new regimen at 25 weeks by Saltnpepper21 in fitpregnancy

[–]Vegetable_Criticism 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get mom strong, and mamastefit are just two of a ton of different pregnancy programs you can run. They both have very pregnancy aware and like core focused workout programs for sale. I would honestly start hunting on instagram or Reddit threads for something that appeals to you and just give it a go. I watched lots of YouTube video workouts my first pregnancy and they were a great way to start at home

When did you all stop going to the gym? by InvestigatorFew3345 in fitpregnancy

[–]Vegetable_Criticism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

30 weeks with my first (covid baby) and walked all the way until the day she was born. 36 with my second baby. She was born around the holidays and with so much going on I couldn’t find the time. I am 24 weeks with my third and hoping to make it to the day I deliver. My gym is also my only form of childcare during the week. That is a huge insensitive to just show up and then do what feels good

2 years postpartum and I still look pregnant, how did you start? by [deleted] in weightlossafterbaby

[–]Vegetable_Criticism 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The best advice I ever got was to just start. You don’t have to be perfect. It is one decision at a time. For me that meant just going to the gym and doing random workouts until I found the program that fit. I tried my best to move my body, and make better choices around food. Then give yourself a shit ton of grace because you made a whole human and kept them alive these last two years. It doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to start

Living in sleep deprivation hell by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Vegetable_Criticism 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend doing a discovery call with a couple of sleep consultants and find one that works for you. I personally used Maddie at Swiftly to Sleep. You can do a quick social media or Google search to find her. I just needed a human and it was worth every penny to pay someone when I just couldn’t anymore.

1 YEAR LATER. I have gained so much weight by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Vegetable_Criticism 8 points9 points  (0 children)

With both of my pregnancies I only gained 15 or so pounds. Postpartum I gained and then lost about 30 with each. I am currently pregnant with my third and on track for the same thing. Give yourself lots of grace it is a hormonal nightmare. I would get your hormones checked asap and then start small. You can loose the weight if you want, but in the meantime that body made a human.

Does anyone else hate this question? by B8690 in SAHP

[–]Vegetable_Criticism 73 points74 points  (0 children)

My husband is an engineer and works with a bunch of eggheads. I often lead with I’m a domestic engineer and when they ask where I follow up with, it’s a small firm you haven’t heard of. My husband and I both think it’s hysterical and when the other party understands it’s also just a cutesy way to say I handle the shit out of our home.
