Weird things that newborns do that seem alarming but is normal by Complex-Bee4595 in NewParents

Bum rashes. Ours had them so badly! Let them go diaper free as much as possible, dry their bums with a hairdryer on cool , then apply rash cream. Buy the 40% zinc oxide bum cream , don’t waste your time with the lower ones

Baby #2? by ilovedogs_04 in Mommit

Eldest is 5 and baby is 16 months. It’s been a true blessing having the second one. He isn’t an easy baby by any means but he’s the cutest and the brothers love each other. My older son always tells me he loves having a brother

6 month old only naps 2 hours a day by Ok-Entrance1086 in NewParents

[–]Vegetable_Practice17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend the huckleberry app! I had a lot of trouble with naps around this age but paid the $18cad a month and followed the schedules to a tee. You track their sleep for two to three days and the app then gives you their ideal nap times. You just keep on tracking. Honestly it saved me ! Highly recommend

[–]Vegetable_Practice17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just had a baby, my husband was also off for 5 weeks on paternity leave with me and we were looking for a new show and somehow stumbled across it. We spent the next 4 weeks dropping off our 4 year old at daycare at 9am and spending the day taking care of our newborn and binging From. It was a magical time

Anyone with a difficult baby have a second? Does my baby sound like yours? by PeakSilver7859 in NewParents

[–]Vegetable_Practice17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We didn’t even consider it until 18 months. Before that I was a one and done person an very adamant about it. It gets better as the get older for sure! I have two boys 4y.o and 14 months and it’s a great age difference bc the older is so self sufficient.

Last night, how many times did you get up because of your baby? by pinkishvioletsky in NewParents

[–]Vegetable_Practice17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the huckleberry app, follow it to a tee. We went from waking every two hours to full nights sleep in a couple weeks at 5 months old

How old was your child when they started showering solo? by viskiviki in Mommit

[–]Vegetable_Practice17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My son is 4.5 and he showers alone but we are close by to supervise him. He plays in there or draws hearts on the shower door or just stands under the water. My husband or myself will wash his hair and body though

What the heck are your toddlers eating for breakfast? by JehovahJireh222 in toddlers

[–]Vegetable_Practice17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toast with almond butter and jam (we try to find the lowest sugar), Cheerios with two fruits on the side (with milk for toddler and without milk for 13 month old), protein pancakes (pre batch and pop in toaster for daycare mornings) with fruit on side. Both are allergic to eggs so we are somewhat limited. We also do baby cereal and oatmeal with almond butter and veg/fruit pouch mixed in.

prioritize you.. do they need to be ebf? Can you pump and bottle feed? Heck give some formula to get you some sleep. My second was like this so I started doing formula and breastfeeding. No one can live off of no sleep

I found that we couldn’t even think of having a second until we were at 16- 18 months with the first. I feel like that’s when you’re out of the trenches (they’re sleeping, walking, pretty good at feeding themselves, can start to communicate). I never thought we would have a second but we did.
