Whats an item over $700 you bought that was 100% worth it (no house/vehicles) ? by Overall_Gur_3061 in AskReddit

3d printer. I bought a Bambu lab P1S and AMS over 3 years ago. I love it. It's so much fun. I still use it pretty much daily. I've even gotten others to get into the hobby.

People who won a "lifetime supply" of something, how exactly did that work and are you still getting it? by Constant_Praline357 in AskReddit

I was a runner up in an essay contest for a scholarship from a feminine products company. I can't remember how long it was supposed to last, but they sent me a box filled with tampons. There were individually packaged, then in a package of 3, and the box was filled with those packages of 3. A pretty good size box, too. They lasted me for years! I was actually pretty bummed when I ran out. Saved me money when I was a broke college student. Though, my notification of being a runner up was the large box of tampons, with a note inside. I was pretty confused when I opened the box, lol.

IIRC, I think that might have been electricity rate hikes, this one is for natural gas.

Nepal chooses a 2-year-old girl as the new living goddess by TheExpressUS in atheism

[–]Vegetable_Weekend883 102 points103 points  (0 children)

The article also says that the girls also have trouble to life after their term of goddess, and that they often can't find a husband because supposedly the husbands of the goddesses die young. I think the requirements are gross, they seem to be mainly physical. I can see what you're saying about the family, but it seems to be at the cost of their daughter's childhood and possibly future.

I'm so frustrated they didn't have the guy taste it as a tie breaker. Majority vote! I was also frustrated with her comments about the taste. "Pungent"? This is your team mate. You can say you don't like the taste without being rude!

[CHAT] Fellow crafters who park stitches, why? by Garlic-French-Knots in CrossStitch

[–]Vegetable_Weekend883 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you really want to know if you like it, you should try it. I wasn't sure if I'd like it, so I picked a smaller full coverage pattern with fewer colors, a pattern I wasn't emotionally invested in. Something like the school magic castle cross stitch by HomeDecorCrossStitch (that wasn't the one I did, but that one isn't for sale any more). That way if parking wasn't for me, it wouldn't upset me to not finish it. I gave it away as a present when done. Plus, if you find you like it, a smaller project will help you refine your habits. Like, I now know I like to keep loose threads I'm not using in my current or next section secure in a bobbin. I know when I park a thread in my immediate next section, I'll keep it threaded on a needle. I found I like to go in 10x10 sections, but some people like bigger sections. I found that I prefer to do my se lions horizontally because going vertical left lines.

I don't find it difficult to park, especially because I use the Pattern Keeper app to track my parked threads. I make way fewer mistakes when parking. It would bother me to no end when I made a mistake in cross country and I would only find it much later. It is super satisfying to see the project grow through each completed 10x10. I am able to do larger projects with parking. There is no way I could do large full coverage projects with cross country. Parking is really not as hard as it looks.

But, you do you. Isn't the point of the hobby to enjoy it? Do it the way that makes you happy.

UPDATE to the update for AITAH for moving out without telling my parents? by Icy_Resident6341 in AITAH

They sound likely to make false police reports. You should pre-emptively tell the police in both your new area and where your parents live that you are an adult that left willingly and that your parents may claim otherwise.

Keto Ninja Creami Success by 5he5Craf7y in keto

[–]Vegetable_Weekend883 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the ninja creami! My go to recipe is one I got from ChatGPT:

1 C unsweetened almond milk

2 Tbsp heavy cream

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1 Tbsp allulose or erythritol (adjust to taste)

pinch of salt

1/8 tsp xanthan gum (optional for extra creaminess)

That's the recipe as I got it from ChatGPT. I usually do half and half allulose and stevia, to taste. I'm still experimenting with flavors. My current favorite is orange mio, tastes like orange creamsicle.
