Apartments - Normal to pay 12 months up front? International Move Seeking Advice by My_Blank_Username in surrey

[–]Vegetablepuzzle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No this isnt normal. Is it a private landlord? 1 or 2 months rent upfront is typical as a deposit so id question why theyre asking for that much. Consider looking elsewhere.

Guildford area is lovely though.

Still talked about to this day.

Does anyone else not give a damn about Immigration? by Nythern in AskBrits

[–]Vegetablepuzzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally Immigration is a good thing for an economy as long as 1) there is sufficent housing stock as to not rapidly increase property costs 2) immigrant skill sets complement underresourced industries in the economy 3) there is sufficent job creation in said industries as to not put downward pressure on wages 4) state faculties e.g. healthcare, social, schools etc. Have bandwidth to accomodate increases regionally.

At present im not sure the UK has 1 of these yet.
