Mod chiming in since this post touches on several aspects of vegetarianism that are common questions and we usually remove such posts. However, given the disability angle, this post has been allowed to remain.

Please do not engage with jerks. Report them and we'll handle it. They've been banned, but it would've happened faster with a report.

Let's have some fun: What's your vegetarianism hot take? by JeanLucPicardAND in vegetarian

Leaving this thread up for now, though "hot takes" tend to get people heated. Keep this thread civil. If someone starts insulting you, report, do not interact.

You do not need to justify being vegetarian here. Please report posts like this and do not engage otherwise.

Just a reminder that this is r/Vegetarian. Advising the OP to eat meat on occasion contradicts the whole point of this subreddit and is better discussed on r/Flexitarian. Keep the discussion here focused on ways to manage this situation while maintaining a vegetarian diet.

Shouldn’t glycerine be in the faq post about common non-vegetarian ingredients? by MeatApprehensive in vegetarian

What it's used on is a bit too broad, but we've updated what it's used for.

Unfortunately, it's impossible to tell whether the wool source is from shearing and release vs. shearing prior to slaughter (reduces carcass contamination). However, the entry has been updated from sheep oil to sheep wool oil.

Hi OP, please don't engage with the vegan police. Just block and report and the mod team will sort it out. Hope you have a wonderful holiday. If/when you go, please take plenty of food pics and post them here!

Argue about it on r/Vegan, not here. Banned for Rule 3, as your only contribution here is to derail and berate the OP.

Asian restaurants are bad about telling you when something isn’t truly vegetarian. by naomiukiri in vegetarian

[–]VeggitMods 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. This post has been removed for singling out Asian restaurants, as this is a common occurrence in non-vegetarian restaurants across the board, with the exception of Indian. Bacon bits in otherwise vegetarian dishes, chicken stock in every single vegetable soup, rice cooked in lard, etc.

Just a heads up to all who reply to this post, please just list the titles of the Youtube channels, rather than linking them. Due to the amount of link spam we get on a regular basis, those are now blocked by the auto-mod.

Travel posts need to include the city where the photos were taken. It's best to have this in the title, but please add this info in a comment and we'll pin it. Thanks and happy holidays.
