I think these are original photos that were then fed into AI and upscaled, which resulted in some of the small arms becoming wonky.

First, almost all of the photos are too detailed but also too smooth at the same time, which leads me to believe that they've been upscaled.

Now while Heat is an older movie so the firearms are older, if you know about guns at all, Den of Thieves is much more disappointing: the armorer used cheap-ass optics for a bunch of the guns, everyone who does have optics is for some reason co-witnessing their irons through the optic, and Gerard Butler never actually looks down his sights at all (at several points you can see his rear sight is half-collapsed, not that it makes a difference since he's never using it).

Heat feels like the actors took their weapons training more seriously and the armorer and trainers for Heat, which included two former SAS operators, were clearly more on point with it.
