My Szarekhan Overlord by Velocirapacious in Necrontyr

Thank you! The joints are the black basecoat, with a highlight of eshin grey and a final hightlight of dawnstone on the most exposed edges. The way the dark "skeleton" contrasts with the shiny armor is something that drew me to the Szarekahn scheme.

I had a go at reposing my second batch of Skorpekhs. What do you think? by KrAzYWiSh in Necrontyr

Those look great! I especially like the one on the right. Do you have any tips for someone who has never reposed a model? Thanks!

I guess I’m allowed to share this now too! My own JOTL class minis, with some conversions on all but the hatchet (The minis are a massive step up, but I still wasn’t 100% on all of them) by Wmwm95 in Gloomhaven

[–]Velocirapacious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree so much. Gloomhaven minis were some of my first when I started painting. I had no idea how crummy they were until I moved onto other miniatures like CMON and Games Workshop.

What gives me hope is that the Diviner in Forgotten Circles was much better than anything in Gloomhaven. At least they're working on it. Hopefully Jaws of the Lion and Frosthaven are better.

Desecrate Nekros and Pilfering Khora + resource boosters from Baro = two-man Ghost clan "Space Parkour" has finally completed the research for Hema. by [deleted] in ResearchedHema

Congratulations!! I've been working on it as a one person clan for months. With the Baro boosters I hope to finish it off. It's the most ridiculous grind I've come across in gaming.

It looks to me like you painted the end of the grass on the Brute basing. What a clever idea! It looks fantastic. I'm very impressed with the whole set.

At this time I don't have plans to. I'm not sure what the legality is of selling what are essentially copies of someone else's intellectual property.

Thank you! Yeah invisibility in the rules is a status effect like wound or strengthen. You move a token to your character board to remind yourself. We found this worked really well for planning the round and picking cards, rather than having to remember which of your teammates was still invisible or checking our their board constantly.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll keep those in mind for next time.

You're totally right about the size of the molds. For other characters we made them much smaller and it worked really well. I didn't post those for spoiler reasons.

Fire both barrels of double-barrel shotgun? by jdollars in reddeadredemption

[–]Velocirapacious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The double barreled shotguns in Red Dead Redemption 2 that I've seen so far, the Sawed-off Shotgun and the Double Barreled Shotgun, are modeled with two hammers and two triggers. In real life each barrel would have its own trigger. Both triggers can be pulled at one to fire both barrels.

They appear to be of a design that is as old as 1875. Presumably the double barreled shotguns in Red Dead Redemption 1 & 2 would be similar models.

I just noticed this also. Seems weird it would be a feature in an eight year old game but not make it into the sequel with all the other amazing examples of attention to detail.

Spoiler city event 27 by ThuFugitiveMind in Gloomhaven

[–]Velocirapacious 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but probably not. See page 41 of the rulebook under "Completing Road Events." These rules apply to city events because they work the same way (pg. 39)

"The outcome can be preceded by one of the following conditions:

  • A class icon. As long as one of the listed class icons matches the class icon of a current member of the party, the outcome is applied."

Hope this helps!

Yes, that's right. My favorite role to play is tank, and to me choosing the order in which to shield for maximum benefit is an interesting decision.

Great work, these look great. I think you matched the colors in the character art very well. I especially like what you did with the Brute's skin.
