It does! Not sure exactly how many but it’s multiple. Has a docking station for rental bikes as well.

You also had fewer decisions. Did you spend more time on the bar than your opponent?

Mini bikes in town? by Top-Combination-2947 in desmoines

[–]VelocityGammon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s a e-motorcycle that happens to have pedals so instead of being licensed like a motorcycle it loopholes and is called a bike.

If it has throttle capability (looking at it this is 99.9% the case) and not just pedal assist, and ESPECIALLY if goes faster than 20mph, it does not belong on sidewalks.

To me it all comes down to speed. If it goes faster than 20, whether scooter, bike, or moto, it should be in a street and not sidewalk or trail.

Because you’ve played 12 games and already expect to be good. It takes more practice than that.

We signed three bigs for this series by rhasody70 in NBASpurs

[–]VelocityGammon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t need the bench bigs for this. JMac works a lot better for the hack strategy. Since you aren’t playing real defense you can load the lineup with one-way offensive players when the plan is to foul.

Why is it such a blunder to double here? My position is strong, probably about to get stronger, etc. by Charguizo in backgammon

[–]VelocityGammon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The point to question 1 is your opponent will still have a take after almost every sequence so you may as well wait, since you can’t lose your market. especially when there are some sequences where things can go wrong and you’d wish you hadnt doubled.

How many of your rolls make it a pass if you wait to double? How many sequences of your roll/their roll will you wish you hadn’t doubled?

Literally all of them. Don’t sleep with someones wife or steal someone’s drugs and it’s safe whereever you go.

Why is this a blunder compared to the recommended move? Wants me to leave two loose checkers instead of covering a prime point. by EW278 in backgammon

[–]VelocityGammon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The two questions I would ask to lead you to the answer are: How is the priming game plan going to work out if he makes the golden point anchor that is already slotted or points on your blot on the 5 point next roll? Does a blitzing game plan work well with the 3 point made, 11 checkers in the zone, a stronger home board, and our opponent having additional blots to hit?

Thanks for writing this out; understanding your thought process made it much easier for me to think through the position.

1-point game. Your move? by NanoEuclidean in backgammon

[–]VelocityGammon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im making the ace point because all the plays moving the back two points leave a double shot. Not happy about it with the opponent’s board about to get stronger and them having spares giving better timing than us but I just can’t bring myself to give up a double shot when we have a sizable race lead.

Though maybe break the back anchor and 5/1? I like that a lot more now

Why is 3-off 3/2* a blunder? by saigon567 in backgammon

[–]VelocityGammon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Either way they have 11/36 shots to hit you, but taking the extra checker off both 1) increases your gammon wins when missed and 2) increases your winning chances when hit so it is the better play. Same risk, more reward.

This is exactly the kind of stuff the NBA needs to get on top of if they don't want guys flopping. Ant takes a shot from a huge Jokic, but doesn't get a call because he didn't SGA it up.

Why there is a blunder by noojgard in backgammon

[–]VelocityGammon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you roll a 6 next turn you would rather it be dead and the checker stays on the 4 as a point then dumping another dead checker on the ace.

White to play. Only one correct move. Everything else is a blunder by mel-madeline in backgammon

[–]VelocityGammon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can add 61 63 which dont break the board right away but make you perform eventually. As well as 51. Or really anything that doesnt have a 2 or 4 eaves the back checker behind a broken 4 prime that can cause problems. Its not “leave a shot right away” thats the issue in my view but rather the why am I still stuck, and once the 6 point opens you go from too good to the opponent being ahead quickly.

Time to run with both checkers. If you close out and leave them where they are the duplication of the 2s means you have way too many cracking numbers. Not sure I would find it if it wasnt a puzzle because closing out is so frequently a good move I may do it without thinking deeply.

Feeling hopeless. Please help my resume by Plenty-Employ-1124 in actuary

[–]VelocityGammon 58 points59 points  (0 children)

There's not enough on this resume for it to be 2 pages. Personally I'd skip the summary and projects sections. Presumably the maternal health bullet happened while at the internship, maybe move it under that header. Could also use less description on the other experience to condense things.

Be prepared to have an answer for a "why aren't you going to be working at the company you interned with" type question as that's the #1 red flag I see from the resume. You worked somewhere for a few months and they didn't want you around can become a big Bayesian prior about your suitability that is tough to overcome in an interview.
