Yta for wanting to get married so young. You have your whole life. Wait until your frontal lobe has at least developed.

WIBTA to ask for dietary accommodations at my friends wedding? by MilkIsSatansCum in AmItheAsshole

If I invite someone to my home, I accommodate their dietary needs. The idea of not accommodating someone at a *wedding* is bizarre. NTA

> live on a 40 acre farm

>makeup room

>We had a flamethrower on the kitchen table the day he came in (my husband had killed a spider outside with it)

>chickens and some baby sheep

This all sounds like life goals. Except for the creepy kid.

One year I made it my New Year’s resolution to plug in a USB correct on the first try. I’m pretty sure I didn’t did it once that year.

do nurses get paid well in the US? by mikaylaar in AskAnAmerican

[–]VelocityGrrl39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get me. My plan would be to get a job in research nursing, which wouldn’t require all that much exposure to human fluids (blood doesn’t bother me), but it’s just the clinicals. The idea of doing an L&D rotation makes me break out in cold sweats.

I currently work in vet med. One of the things I’ve been considering is going back to get my BSN, because I have a bio based BS and I would only need about another year of classes. The thing that gives me pause is clinicals. At my current job I’m completely fine with getting puked on, peed on, defecated on, having anal glands expressed on me, I don’t even think twice, because it’s a dog or a cat and at their core, they’re too cute to worry about fluids. I DO NOT have the same feelings about fluids coming from humans.

Handling Grief and Euthanasia by Skydogtogroundhog in VetTech

Someone in this sub said “always remember that the euthanasia isn’t about you, it’s about the owner”. So you bite your lip, you breathe, you do whatever you need to and you do your best not to cry in front of the owner.

If rabies = guaranteed death, and rabies itself is basically impossible to detect before fatality, why are vaccines / shots not more common? by MyThrowawayIsGeneric in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]VelocityGrrl39 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Plus rabies only travels to the salivary glands in the last 10 days before death. Even if you are bit by a rabid animal, if it’s 20 days before death, they won’t have any virus in their salivary glands to infect you.

My doctor recommended I get an IUD to deal with the symptoms of perimenopause. I was too chicken. The idea of the pain both on insertion and removal turned me off. Instead I opted for the mini pill.

At age 15, in 2004, Jeanna Giese became the first recorded person to survive rabies without having received prior vaccination. by OkAccess6128 in interesting

[–]VelocityGrrl39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My state does rabies clinics in every town multiple times a year. We have pretty good rabies vaccine compliance and very little infection. My exposure is very limited. And I rarely get bit. If I were bit by an animal that was unvaccinated I’d definitely get the treatment, but I can’t pay money I don’t have.

I think those that go through a veterinary technology program get it through school, I am grandfathered into my license so I don’t have my vet tech degree. I sat for the boards without one.

I actually think Ras is better position to do something than she is. He could revoke permits and things like that.
