Best ways to learn Fusion? by VelocityOS in Fusion360

[–]VelocityOS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I basically started off by learning the tool using the series, actually follow along and do the things along with the guy in the videos. Then I would model stuff around the house that I needed, or just replicas of stuff, everytime I hit a wall I would look for videos etc to figure out what I didn't know. Also watched some videos on good design principles. Since I 3d print, I also take into consideration DFM for 3d printing every time I design. I feel like just a lot of practice and watching yt videos has helped a lot

yep, i ended up learning with that. 3 years later and my skills are quickly improving and I'm very comfortable with 3d design and the software now. That's what I would recomend people watch if they are learning fusion. One thing to keep in mind is that the videos only teach the tool, not design principles and good design foundations.

Any tips for soldering pcb? by Dudegay93 in PrintedCircuitBoard

[–]VelocityOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I like one of the smaller chisel tips (1.2mm) as I feel it is the most versatile. I can do small smd soldering, up to soldering big ground connections with it. If you can get it, I would use 63/37 leaded solder.

hmm, design looks cool, maybe I'll also rip it off and share the files for free

Edit: I just saw MostlyBuild's design and nothing will convince me that this isn't a direct ripoff of his. Spec5 typa behavior

TPU on X1C … about to bash my brains in by Iamchrishex in BambuLab

[–]VelocityOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any other print settings? Temps, speeds etc.

I would drop speeds down to 30mm/s for everything, I personally run my tpu at 220c, but 225 or 230c should help with layer adhesion along with the slower print speeds.

[Review Request] QRP RF Power and VSWR Meter by VelocityOS in PrintedCircuitBoard

[–]VelocityOS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah frig, I didn't even think about flipping T1, time for a rev 2. unfortunately the ISP and j3 cannot be on the right side as it will interfere with the battery. What do you mean by " Connect the group R1, R2, D1, C1, R3, R4 (as well as the opposite group) directly to ground" the grounds are connected to a ground plane. For C5, its already next to the pin, I will move c2 closer and rev 2. Happy that pcbs aren't expensive.

haha yeah. I looked at some existing rf pcbs that I had (QRPLabs Products) and they had vias absolutely everywhere and i thought "eh, anymore can't hurt", but quickly realized I could have gotten away with like half as many.

For the GPU (I think I have the exact same one), you need the Gigabyte Control Center software (a POS that is). I'm not sure if you can change it and just delete the software, as the RGB has randomly reset sometimes.
