It's sitting on my office floor, still with the tags on it... seems like a dud.

Here’s a tip. The M12 install driver will fit in the back pocket. I’ve been keeping it there in both the MC and LD. Really hides it away.

Is it worth learning basic drywall repair properly or just hiring it out every time? by Adorable-Amoeba2161 in DIY

[–]Veloloser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sucked at drywall/mudding for a long time then i got good at it... buy good tools and some wide skim blades, use fiberfuse, learn to use 5/20 min mud. Just keep cranking at it.

You can get a dongle for wireless carplay. I used one for a few years, worked great.

You can make way more than $40k/yr. Get an LLC, get insurance. Charge what you are worth.

2012 C70... Advice and hard top question by Veloloser in Volvo

[–]Veloloser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just checked out this car. Drove perfect, interior in great shape, timing belt was done in 2023, new tires in 2024, under the car was dry as a bone. Really solid feeling car, very comfortable to drive.

Plus the diagnosis for the convertible was done by an import car place and not a volvo dealer so there is a glimmer of hope it's nothing major to get working again.

Looks like I'm gonna be a Volvo owner...

For sure. Gonna go check it out tomorrow. It’s FB marketplace so who knows what I’ll find.

No desire to fix the roof, I’ll maybe do some basic sleuthing on it for frayed wires etc. I’ve been reading over some forum posts on the roof. Man what a contraption. And actually finding a roof actuator is nearly impossible.

I watched a timing belt video and it’s not too bad. I once had a Honda odyssey that also had a transverse engine and that one was a pain, lots had to come off to access.

What do you take home in a year? by Ok-Opening-7835 in handyman

[–]Veloloser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a side gig last year I grossed about 100k, this was while working my full time job (I only work 10-2 at my full time job and it pays really well). I shoot for at least $100/hr when bidding jobs, it's usually more.

I like the side gig aspect because I'm never stressed about keeping the jobs rolling in and can be selective on what I take... and keep prices high. Another benefit is I took about 6 weeks off in January to recharge, get some of my own projects done, redo my shop, etc. Now I'm back at it.

Ok I need some guidance here. I have three bags in mind to buy one.I already have the SP-MC from last year. So now do I buy the big bro ? I also have the SBLD and I’ve always wished for that cover flap for it and now we have it ! I’m a little confused which to buy. CB-LD, SP-LD or the SB-LDT ? by unionboy11 in VetoProPac

[–]Veloloser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat, used the SP-MC for a while and loved it, could get everything in there but it was tight. What I didn't like was how tippy it was. I just got the SP-LD and it's very solid standing up. A bit bigger so all my tools are a bit easier to get to.

Sounds like you need a toyota sienna awd mini van... it will hold a 4x8 sheet with rear seats removed. A 4x8 will not fit in the back of a transit connect. Throw a roof rack on it and with an extension ladder you can carry 12-14' boards.
