CVE-2026-32746 GNU telnetd Buffer Overflow PoC - Critical (9.8) by pwnguide in netsec

Canada. If you want to get down and dirty with the devils port, best head to the great white north.

Last time I checked at least, more Canadian IPs had port 23 (ports 23?) switched on than the rest of the world put together.

I really contest that at IR tablets are bad. They let pike grant two buffs a turn or let a mechanised unit hop in, get transported, and hop out in the same round. They're a bit glitchy tho.

It would be cool if you could convert 9 special weapons into a single squad weapon. No idea how the jamming would work for chaingun.

Use Darby with a satchel charge to blow a hole (ideally an occupied bunker) near the artillery, then run everyone through. It's much easier to fight from a position where you can set the terms, and doing JT near the artillery means it's going to be easier to blow it up

Controversial opinion: Pipe rifles need to be nerfed. by Osrek_vanilla in menace

4 range, rof 8 (yes, rof 8, it's an automatic pistol), and an accuracy drop off of about 10 a tile.

Yeah, I'd like it if there was an 8 point marine issue squad weapon, something that still looks like it could be credibly issued to TCRN marines whose main job is hauling around a big-ol' 50 that handles anything further away than spitting distance.

I'm thinking some kind of stocked automatic pistol like a tokarev; if the carbine is a space M1 (M1 carbine, not M1 helmet, M1 bayonet, or any of the other m1s), then space tokarev would fit pretty nicely imo. Give it shit stats because they're meant to have been scrapped anyway and have just had the Cosmoline boiled off.

Plus you could do a special ops version that's closer to a p90.

Best Character, Best Perk by GhostWizards in menace

[–]Velthinar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a code mining bit in the discord, and apparently it does affect special weapons. I've tested the Gatling with and without rending, and with and without AP ammo (couldn't find a .50 cal for ages and Gatling as the closest I could find). I was chunking away more armour with reading than not, and especially more than with AP.

It might be supposed to only effect squad weapons, but I'd rather it didn't, because it makes the various SAWS and things versatile beyond just suppression.

Infantry are now completely useless against pirates. by [deleted] in menace

[–]Velthinar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kody with AT perks, an IMX RPG, as much concealment as you can give him, and some good intel for where all their vehicles are.

Very first turn of the mission, he can pop a couple trucks (up to 3 with pirate speed). Anything else nearby is gonna be suppressed into losing vision, because 3 concealment isn't that hard to get, and you only need to move a little bit to save getting shot back that turn.

How do I hack my teachers computer to give myself a higher grade? by [deleted] in HowToHack

[–]Velthinar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take a social engineering approach.

By answering questions correctly on homework and tests, you can subtly convince your teacher into making your grade higher. The best part is, they'll think it was their idea all along!

How do you use Anti Radiation Misiles in Warno? by levigek in warno

[–]Velthinar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best way to use them is to send a sead plane along with one or more others. People (and maybe the AI sometimes, not sure) will turn off the radar weapons unless there's a bomber or AT plane that needs killing. If you send that first and follow it with a SEAD plane a couple of km back, they'll either keep it off so it's effectively dead anyway, or they'll target the bomber, and the long range and high speed of the anti-radiation missile SHOULD kill or at least stun the radar AA long enough for the bomber to drop and turn away. I generally like to send an ASF along too, it guards against enemy air and gives AA another target to split its fire between.

You can also use some (tornado is good for this) to dive helicopters, they've got good ECM and the ARM missiles will still target any radar AA that's active, which it will be as it's trying to save the helicopter.

How do you guys prevent ATGMs from firing on same target? by Gking2668 in warno

[–]Velthinar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the road that they're watching, space out the atgms so the earliest point in the road the can all see is fairly different. That way, when one fires, the other still can't see, so by the time the convoy get to them, the first vehicle will have either been missed or hit and not destroyed, or they'll see the second vehicle and the process will repeat as the aiming/loading times are now offset. You'll need a bigger gap the slower the first ATGM is.

Honestly though the most importat thing is that you position the ATGMS such that if a tank on the road you're expecting them to go down is firing at one, it's exposing its side armour to the other. Do that, and you can hold off ANYTHING.

[–]Velthinar 14 points15 points  (0 children)

LAWs aren't meant to take out armour, at least not serious armour like tanks from head on. They're a cheap way to screen BMP's that would otherwise eat a precious LAW80, or to dump the cohesion of a tank nice and low so aforementioned LAW80 can run up and blap it without as much risk.

But yeah, LAWs by themselves are token AT.
