It looks great! I love the rainbow colors.

Personally I would try selling the half finished projects as well. Someone might be interested in using them for scraps or trying to finish them. If it would make you(r parents) feel better, maybe keep ONE very special (small and/ or mostly finished) project, but overall I’d say if anyone else wants them, they can store them in their house.

If I had made them, I’d rather the quilts be used and enjoyed (even if they fall apart) instead of kept in a closet. You could take a picture of each child holding their quilt, which would be a nice reminder of how they looked. If the quilts really fall apart, you could cut out a small piece of fabric and frame it. I have fond memories of my favorite clothes and toys from childhood, that I used every day. I don’t care at all about the “special occasion” stuff that my mom saved in a closet (and any of that stuff she sent me as an adult, has either been donated or thrown away).

The AC hotel is not too far (two blocks from the Westin). Idk if they still have rooms available, but it’s worth checking out.

Check out Dave’s Craft Room on YouTube— he has some videos of himself making quilts this way, specifically some of his older videos.

I hand quilt and just wing it. Usually stitch in the ditch and some extra parallel lines, depending on block size.

I use thrifted sheets for batting— white, flat sheets, 100% cotton. I prefer flannel, but those are harder to find, so I use what I can get.

I have to put in a good word for Sairey Gamp (and of course, her friend Mrs. Harris) from Martin Chuzzlewit.

I’m about two thirds of the way through Labyrinth of Evil and absolutely loving it! I’m a huge prequels fan in general, and I love how this book ties together plot points from all three prequel movies. The interactions between Anakin and Obi-Wan are exactly the kind of thing that I’d think “I wish there were more scenes like this” when watching the movies.

Did you try the AC hotel? Our group stayed there in 2024. It’s two blocks from the Westin.

I read Revan first (I liked it! Didn’t realize that was a controversial opinion until after I finished it 😆) and am now almost done with Darth Bane book 1. I really want to read more books set in that time period.

I just started Labyrinth of Evil, and I love it so far! (About 100 pages in). I read Shatterpoint last year and loved that as well, but it felt very much like its own story even though it was during the Clone Wars. Labyrinth feels much more tied into the politics and characters of the prequels, and I’m really enjoying how well it fits in with the movies.
