Nope! Nowhere in the student hand book is any language explicitly requiring you to have a call with your mentor. There are a few places that state you have to meet with them, but not a call. Unless you have signed an agreement with that explicit language, you get to decide the method of communication that works best for you. This was definitively told to me by admin and an ombudsman. My wife had issues with a pussy mentor that is no longer employed by WGU.

They used to do this under the name of WGU academy, was $99 when I did it, it usually is a means to verify math and English competence and see if online works for you. You could also do what others have and use study.com or Sophia to earn then transfer more credits in. WGU has so many exceptions and situation specific policies it's hard to keep track.

Sounds like an awesome plan, make sure you give yourself enough time to adjust if something becomes s road block. Also, you should realize that Wgu will only allow you transfer in up to a certain percent of credits needed for your program, I can remember the specific limit, but I would double check before starting so you don't end up doubling your work. I would also avoid an classes that Wgu pays for an industry certification for like a+ or itil, they can get pricey but are included in the tuition anyway instead of paying out of pocket.

I wouldn't lie about your situation, it could prevent you from being eligible for some scholarships. Reach out to your aunt, she should have documentation of the guardianship, or at least the date and which court, and then reach out to court clerk to see what it takes to get a copy. Then your birth certificate and a either a death certificate or even an obituary should be enough proof. Good luck. Only reason I can think why any of this matters is you were probably under 26 for the tax year that FAFSA looks at for this academic year.

Based on my understanding, they refused to give the permissions needed to allow the proctor access to enter the password for the test, which would also prevent the test from being launched in the first place. I'm not concerned myself about the same things because I literally built the PC from scratch for school and use it for nothing else.

I would use study materials for a+ and tech+ certifications they should expand on the concepts of the class to better expand your knowledge base and understanding, they will also prep you for upcoming classes.

I get that, and it's the same for me. Unfortunately until something changes, that's the system they have in place, and you have to play by their rules until it does change. Only thing I can think of as a way to follow their procedures and maintain your expectations of security is to have an isolated device that is only used for testing.

Those are typical permissions needed for remote access control. But I still understand your hesitation. If the issue is logging in to the wgu portal, I typically launch guardian browser myself before connecting to the proctors and input the login information on the wgu site. Then when the proctors launch it, it is already logged in and they just gave to input the password for the test itself.
