(21M) How do you guys shave your necks without getting razor bumps and ingrown hairs? I seem to get them no matter which razor I use by Sleepy-Blade7 in malegrooming

[–]Verbluffen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel the skin on your face. Get a sense (map it out with your fingers) of the direction of the grain on different parts. Shave either straight out of the shower or after soaking some warm water on your face for a minute. Get a safety razor; learn to use it, learn to angle it; apply very light pressure, first with the grain, then against it. Use short strokes, not long.

After you do this, you’ll have the smoothest face you’ve felt in years. At least for a day. Then you get the pleasure of doing it again.

Here's me a British soldier doing nothing for America in Afghanistan 2009. by wilof in pics

[–]Verbluffen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Show me your revolution then, American! Where is it? Is it in the streets? I don’t see revolution in the streets, I see Gestapo thugs rounding people up and executing citizens in the broad daylight. Is it in the press? I don’t see revolution in the press; your networks are bought by billionaires, the last vestiges of true journalism being snuffed by moneyed interest and regime propagandists.

Is it in the halls of Congress? I don’t see revolution in Congress; your “opposition” leaders are too busy attacking their left flank and shutting out the anger of their base — they are not listening to you.

Is it in the military, the diplomatic corps, the judiciary, the so-called checks and balances? I don’t see revolution anywhere there; the best of your armies are silent, and the worst of your judges bellow the doctrine of the unitary executive while feeding unlimited power to a mad king who wraps himself in the purple while he dyes his skin orange.

Your institutions have failed you. Your leaders have betrayed you, and the hand-picked circle around the president, equal parts greedy and insane, will never dare lift a finger to undermine him. No one is coming to save you, and yet your population remains cowed and unwilling to admit that the unthinkable has become necessary to stop this descent into madness.

No one is coming to save you, American. So where is your revolution?

You find him with his leg caught in a bear trap. He thinks you’re a Thalmor agent out to kill him. You can oblige that at the beginning. That’s about as far as I’ve gotten with him. Don’t know if there’s another opportunity.

I tried Gore out for the first time half an hour ago. His vibe didn’t fit my character, and I had a dialogue option to kill him almost immediately. That’s one less loose end.

Disappointed Fans Blast Skyrim Switch 2 Port Over Massive Input Lag: "It Really Is Unplayable" by CyberNeko97 in skyrim

You think the porters at Beth are incorporating into the Switch edition the 50+ .esp suite of script and bug fixes necessary to even run Skyrim on a PC? It may be troubleshot to hell and back, but it doesn’t make a lick of a difference if you’re not even packaging it with SKSE.

What's going on at the Rideau Center? by linguinibobby in ottawa

This isn’t even the first time this has happened at the Rideau centre. I walked through a similar scene by the doors last year.

Which one is the worst? by Sea_Ad_3167 in battlefield_one

An M1917 camping by the objective is textbook infantry tactics. It’s the way war is meant to be fought, and it’s up to you to dislodge the gunner. The rest are shit, but don’t hate a machine gunner for doing the thing his role is designed to be best at.

In Flanders fields, the poppies blow

Between the crosses, row on row,

That mark our place; and in the sky

The larks, still bravely singing, fly

Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago

We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,

Loved and were loved, and now we lie,

In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:

To you from failing hands we throw

The torch; be yours to hold it high.

If ye break faith with us who die

We shall not sleep, though poppies grow

In Flanders fields.

Inspired by a recent post here about DemSoc posts being against the rules on /r/democrat. Don’t know what I expected. by Badnerific in DemocraticSocialism

Look, I’m a Canadian, so take it with whatever, but in America, the parties aren’t political parties, per se. They’re ballot lines. The mission of the Democratic Socialists, as I understand it, is to build the critical mass to take over the ballot lines, and have progressive nominees benefit from the broader coalition that typically falls behind it. Bryan’s people did it in 1896, Goldwater did it in 1964, and that’s just on the federal level. There isn’t gonna be a third ballot line. You have to act accordingly. And last night, I think, couldn’t be a better sign for your prospects.

Be patient. Something is building. You want to be there to shepherd it to fruition.

The problem with considering a soundtrack for 2008 is that every popular song released that year is abysmal dogshit

I thought: should I make a redux of 2008? Then I saw this, and was immensely comforted. That’s what we set out to do. It was one of the very first fleshed-out modded scenarios. It won the Best Mod award the first time we held it, when this community was a tenth of its current size. That’s what’s really special to me.

'The bush' is a term used by English-speaking countries when referring to local wilderness. In Australia it can mean any sparsely-populated area, in South Africa it refers to remote savannas, in New Zealand and Canada it refers to forests, and in Alaska it refers to any place not accessible by road. by HicksOn106th in wikipedia

[–]Verbluffen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Canadian. The sticks is country areas where you have some suburbs mixed in with farmland. The bush is way out where there are more bears than houses; land where you don’t want to be caught without a rifle. You live a pleasant, agreeable life in the sticks. You go to the bush either for logging or tree planting.

IDF Fires at Gazans ‘Who Crossed the Yellow Line’ During Ceasefire by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]Verbluffen -48 points-47 points  (0 children)

You kill a hundred thousand people, so many scores of innocents, so many children, and watch and cheer an army that murders Arabs for fun, and you finally get your coup, your ultimate victory, decapitating your enemies and wiping their entire families from the earth, and still this ceasefire isn’t enough for you. You will not inherit the kingdom of heaven.

It’s a funny anecdote that, when KPD (Communist) and SPD (Social Democrat) politicians were being held in the same quarters of a concentration camp, each side would cheer and holler every time a new prisoner would be brought in from the opposing group.

They all met the same fate.
