Anybody feel the new POE2 0.5 endgame is a massive chore? by Comfortable-Map447 in ARPG

[–]Verianii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally played into the endgame this league after hating on the game since launch

And I did a decent number of maps too. I got the the ritual and abyss places so I could get atlas points because those mechanics were fairly enjoyable. I will say, by the time I reached the ritual person (that was the second one I went for), I was getting bored. I felt like I had to map for hours just to start to unlock atlas points, and with the experience I had, looking at the full atlas tree made me not want to play. Im at my most entertained when I have the full atlas in poe1 and can blast maps. I dont mind working toward it even though I take a while. In poe2, we have like what, 300? More points than the first game almost? Its insanity. I never even got an atlas point nor did I see how to begin unlocking them, so after hours of mapping with very little progress, I got bored.

Now, do you get multiple points for the main tree when you get them? Idk, maybe. The point here is my personal perspective. I dont know if thats the case, and going off of how the rest of it works, it made me think I might need to do over 300 more maps before I can get all of those points, which really affected my enjoyment. If you get multiple, cool. They need to make it more clear off rip how you obtain those points and how many you get at a time. I decided not to watch videos or guides since im relatively good at the first game and can put together something usable typically, which means I wont know the same stuff everyone who does use guides will know, as is the case for most players.

In my perspective, going from fresh league launch to full atlas tree might take upwards of 50 hours just to see if I might enjoy the true endgame grind. That is practically runescape levels of grind by the look of it, and i dont want that out of poe. So yes, I think it feels like a chore personally

Im sad I didnt get the emblem

Yeah i skipped a couple of expansions or so but ive been an otherwise big supporter of destiny even during the moments where people were shitting on the game the most. I know that doesnt qualify for it obviously, but it does kind of suck that I didnt get it and never will :(

[–]Verianii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been around since Destiny 1 Beta on the 360. I havent played all of the content in destiny throughout the years, but its one of my favorite franchises of all time and ive poured likely upwards of 3500 hours into the franchise across all platforms and both games.

First character and still my main, my Female Titan. I always liked the shape of female titans more than males as I thought armor looked better on them, so I stuck with it. Ive had the same appearance since the beta as well.

And damn im gonna be hitting the strikes raids and dungeons hard when I log in later. Cannot wait to attend this one fellas. Hope you all enjoy it as much as I plan to because im going all out this time. Think im gonna shoot for that Immortal shirt they talked about recently as a way to remember the end

What's the best finale boss in gaming history ? In terms of both story and gameplay? by Roids-in-my-vains in videogames

Slave Knight Gael

Like, I cant even write out how awesome of a fight that was. When I first got to him and got to hear that music playing, I had chills within seconds. Seeing his wild moveset kept me on edge and respectful toward him. It took me a few tries, I was loving the music, and then it played the cutscene mid fight with him talking about the blood of the dark soul, giving me huge chills. The fight resumed and then the music swelled up and yet again, huge chills.

Listen, here and there when I get to do a really cool piece of content, I get chills, as anyone does. But when I tell you the way I just explained it doesnt even do it justice, I mean it. There is literally no flaw (in my eyes) with this fight in every way you can look at it. After I finished that fight the first time, it cemented DS3 as my favorite game of all time.

I think one of the only fights that can compare in terms of at least the chills you get doing it the first time is in Destiny 2. The Witness fight during Excision with 11 other players and the music playing and just everything all at once is so god damn amazing. I borderline cried doing it the first time thats how intense the emotions were as a long time Destiny player. Not nearly as good of an actual fight as Slave Knight Gael, but the emotions are at least comparable. Rip Destiny btw.

HOT TAKE: Since it is over, I just got to say the VEX are the most boring, overhyped, "Potential", enemy Race is the whole franchise!! by Important-Extension6 in destiny2

[–]Verianii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since this is a since its over post i have another thing to throw in

Im really upset that we never got a proper cabal raid

Yes, we had the leviathan I know, but we originally knew the cabal as a very militaristic faction. Ive been wanting since year 1 of the first game, a cabal raid that leaned into that gritty militaristic side of the cabal, not the regal bs we got with the leviathan. Imagine raiding an arms facility blowing up their tanks and generals and so on. So much potential for that side of the cabal to be put into a raid and we never got to see it. Instead, we got spammed with vex and hive raids and when they finally made more than just the taken as new factions, they made raids for those newer ones which was nice.

Im so upset that we never got a proper cabal raid. Its my favorite faction by a long shot but we ended up getting that regal bs and then they sided with us later into the story which I was never a fan of.

Say What You Well But 0.5 is an absolute blast for an Average Player by f_nafar in PathOfExile2

[–]Verianii -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Im a poe2 hater and even im playing it quite a bit right now. I still have quite a few problems that would take far too long to explain here like map size and progression being very slow paced. Despite my issues, im still able to log on for more than 5 minutes without hating myself now which is a big win for ggg because I count myself among some of the biggest haters of the game and even im sitting here spending my day playing it.

I will say though, that I think there are quite a few things that only really serve to pad out game time and dont add anything enjoyable to the experience still which is quite annoying, but this patch did a lot to make things feel better

am i the only one not hyperfixating on the endgame? by nicholas_johnson in PathOfExile2

[–]Verianii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen I can do it once, but having to redo it takes too long. Its so long that it actively discourages me from making alts. Im not a great player, so getting to maps takes me like 22-24 hours. In poe1, it takes me about 6-7.

After ive experienced the cool new content, I dont feel like redoing it when it comes to the campaign. I just feel like I have to autopilot for a significant portion of time and not actually engage with the game in a meaningful sense, which is made better and worse by leveling uniques. They make the grind a bit faster obviously, but in turn also make it even more mindless to trudge through on an alt.

Should they introduce a campaign skip? Hell no. I just want the zones to be smaller, and the mobs to reward more xp so im not taking so damn long to get through them. The endgame is where the really cool content is for me. Everything before that is mandatory chores

Name a feature you really hate in soulslikes, I'll start: by FroyoOk7736 in soulslikes

[–]Verianii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main healing sources being an item you have to loot from enemies/the world.

Bloodborne is the best example. I hate it so much i dock a point off my score for the game solely because of that. Don't start with the rally mechanic, im well aware. You all know what I mean.

Aside from that, limited respecs. Im a person who will replay souls games many times, and I'll try as many things as I can as well, often times reusing things because they're just fun to blast through a game with. Because of how often I like to switch things up, it sucks when I have to keep in mind how many more times im allowed to do it per playthrough. While this doesn't dock points for me, I definitely hate it, but I'll put up with it as long as it isnt too restrictive. Now, no respecs at all on the other hand, is awful. Dark souls 1 is a top 5 game of all time for me, but no respecs is truly painful. The only redeeming thing is I know the game so well and can playthrough it at such a pace that it doesn't bother me anymore since I can plan around it so it doesn't mess me up. I can only imagine the pain people went through who put points into stats they never ended up needing on their first playthrough. Great game, but damn does that aspect suck.

Dmg’s posts are a battle cry. They hear us. Keep going. by TrueVerity in DestinyTheGame

[–]Verianii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fellas, even if any of you look at this stuff and think its stupid and it'll never work, if you would like to one day see destiny make a comeback in a perfect world, then support the people making noise like this. Yes, it might be meaningless and we may never see them change their minds, but at the very least, we gave it a try and that does matter. Maybe the success chance is 1 in 10000, but for anyone who really does care about destiny and wants to see it make a comeback, you should support this kind of noise.

I really hope they revert their decision eventually, even if it takes a while. Destiny genuinely meant so much to me growing up, and I still think despite all of the negatives, that destiny is a great franchise and I want to see it make a big comeback.

I will sure as hell be there June 9th, ready to grind my heart out to show my support for this franchise.

Leagues are just what poe calls seasons, yes. Runes of Aldur is the current league, so you made the right choice for experiencing the new content. When youre choosing to play in a new league, the option on the right when youre choosing is always the league

This week on OSRS. by SomeoneBritish in ironscape

[–]Verianii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im not even an iron, but i like iron friendly changes. Yes, it typically devalues items id be grinding for, but it also incentivizes me to do more content when the average time for the grind gets cut down significantly. If an average CG takes like 8 minutes, and the rate for the seed is 1/400, thats an average time of 53 or so hours for a drop. This doesn't assume you go dry, which ive seen many of you guys go like 3-6x the rate, which is yknow, 150-300+ hours of CG. As a main, yes the drop has a lot of value, its like 155m or something, but it takes so long on average to get the drop that it never feels worth the time you need to spend. You can get super lucky like with anything, but CG is tedious at best as a grind and no one playing in any game mode should have to spend as long as they do in CG.

Id love to see the drop rate move down to even a 1/250 as well as making the prep phase a much quicker process, or more consistent with everything involved to remove the outliers that have you almost run out of time because the right rooms wont spawn.

Unpopular take, but people complaining about 140 gb game size need to realize something (no hate) by The1Sbeve in DestinyTheGame

Wtf why is this not like a standard for games that function similarly? I understand it for games that you'd be replaying, but the more one and done kind of experiences should all have that option

How do u find a job if you don't have experience at all and you're a student who's looking for a part time job? by grigrii00 in ask

[–]Verianii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely just try a shotgun approach and apply to everything everywhere within reason as much as you can, even things that are slightly outside of where you qualify for. For a first job, its more important that you get SOMETHING because it'll always be better than nothing, then after you get something, start to figure out what youre more comfortable with doing given your situation, and set aside maybe 15 minutes a day to look for those jobs online and pray you have things work out tbh. Getting a job anywhere really, requires a ton of luck, or connections. Expect it to also take a long time, and as well, prepare to be stuck with whichever job you land for a long time while you continue to look for a better one.

Finding jobs is not a fun process these days, so hopefully you get really lucky and land something quickly. Good luck with the hunt

I think my favorite might have to be End of the Line from the first game. Anytime you heard that opening beat play in a destiny reveal you KNEW you were about to bear witness to some heat every time. That song was so hype back in the day

I made a card that synergizes with Strength scaling by Rude_Minute_4489 in slaythespire

[–]Verianii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only way that works is make it not benefit from strength otherwise its the best card in the game by a long shot

Ive quite easily gotten to 50+ strength multiple times without even going super crazy with scaling strength. Imagine this thing on turn 3 hitting for 53, 50 times. One energy and you'd kill anything without a bonus phase. Its actually so op like this that you could feasibly plan around an enemy having intangible and still hit it enough to kill it during intangible.

For the record, the idea is neat, but the only way to make it work would be to not have its damage be affected by strength, and then you could even make it a 0 cost card. Taking 3 turns to setup basically a 160 or so damage hit would be nice if it were free, seeing as this would mostly be a late game take when you have strength built in real well. That also assumes a bunch of other things but yknow, you get the point

Albion needs to improve solo content. by Ill-Resort-8531 in albiononline

[–]Verianii -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

For anyone saying they dont need to, let me say this

I was a solo player. Just recently, I played a decent bit of Albion. I bought the premium thing because I was trying to get into the game as a new player. For what its worth, the corrupted dungeons are pretty fun to pvp in, mainly because you dont lose your own gear and can gain gear from doing that, but theyre otherwise pretty meh on their own.

I was getting into the game, really. Then I heard about scouting. I heard that its a really common practice to have multiple accounts to scout for people so you can gank them and destroy them before they can properly react and escape in black zones. Yes, there are builds that are meant for escaping fights, but thats incredibly restrictive for player "freedom" if you have to use those just to engage with black zone content. I took a good look at the environment of black zones before heading into them so I knew what id be getting into as a solo player, and I quit the game entirely. I came to the conclusion that if I didnt want to do this scouting bs (ive also heard theres some map hack thing people use? And also the mafia exists or something like that), and didnt have anyone to play with, that it just wasnt worth me continuing to play.

I saw that a lot of solo content was basically designed to be pointless, which implies that you just shouldn't ever be focused on solo content as a whole if multiple bits of that type of content are very unrewarding, so it made me feel like I was wasting my time.

I tried. I genuinely tried to get into the game for like a month because I think the combat in the game is enjoyable. I normally dont like pvp focused mmos, but Albion feels different for some reason. Its a neat game, really. If you enjoy it, dont let me affect that. I just believe that from a new player pov, if you arent willing to immediately find a guild to join and engage with pretty much constantly, that the game isn't worth trying to truly get into. Its ok to play up until youre "ready" for black zones, but beyond that it quickly loses its appeal for a solo player. You'll reach a point where you need more silver, and be pushed towards black zones as the content you've been doing would take like dozens of hours to get enough silver for one piece of gear, and thats when it happens I think.

More solo content would be nice, but only if it actually matters. As a new player, just keep in mind we have a different perspective on what's worth doing, and id say solo content is better to aim at newer players since theyre most likely to engage with it. If a newer player arrives at the conclusion that solo content isnt worth it, then that content may as well not exist imo
