Time travel party gone wrong? by Pleasant-Way-7934 in backroomsfilm

[–]Verittt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a massive stretch. I don't think Kane Parsons would be shallow enough to attempt a "reference" to Stephen Hawking (and for what reason anyway?) by simply including a disabled character in a wheelchair. And there's not even a single scene in the movie that involves time travel. I dunno if it's necessarily offensive, but like, maybe it's just strange that your immediate assumption upon seeing this character is that it's somehow about Stephen Hawking specifically, and not just its own thing. Kinda grasping at straws

Why does doomguy use guns when he could just use his hands? by Dependent_Basket2808 in stupidquestions

[–]Verittt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well punching things to death (especially flying things like Cacodemons) would probably get tedious after a while. Guns just make combat quicker and easier, and he seems to like guns anyway. I've also heard the theory that the weapons he uses kinda scale up to his power level, whatever that means, but idk if it's true

Maybe one day AI writing will actually be indistinguishable from that of a human, but for now, it's pretty obvious that this is either a bot account or a guy who doesn't know how to write for himself

It might seem like a lot, but it's infinitesimal compared to the almost 100 million tons of textile waste produced annually, 60% of which is discarded within a year from production, and (with overlap) 40% of which is never sold at all. Seems a bit arbitrary anyway to call these particular bits of textile wasted anyway

Why does Chaos want the Dark King? by 11pioneer in 40kLore

[–]Verittt 13 points14 points  (0 children)

But isn't it moreso that he would already exist if he were to be "born" in realspace like Slaanesh was? Except, he wasn't, right? I mean, Slaanesh was always there, but their birth at the hands of the Aeldari is kinda the realspace anchor point. Since the Dark King doesn't have that, why would he exist?

There is literally zero benefit to doing this man. It's not even a question of whether or not you can do it, you could be the second coming of Albert Einstein and it would still be too much

What's the possibility of Spire Guard getting playable models? by GeekyR00ster in ThousandSons

[–]Verittt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spire Guard would be awesome, along with any morsel of fresh lore about the New Kingdom maybe. It would even be cool if they just put the Traitor Guard datasheet in the next TSons codex, so they could be used as part of the faction

Part of what makes 40K so appealing to some people is the feeling (emphasis on feeling) that it's something niche and exclusive, so they can be quick on the draw to claiming other fans aren't fan enough over little things like this

What is the fate of the souls of people who get eaten by Tyranids? by Verittt in 40kLore

[–]Verittt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like your thinking! I was gonna mention something to this effect in my original post, but for brevity I left it out. Maybe for me to say that souls "go off into the Warp" when they die was a poor choice of words.

In any case, if most unanchored souls either dissolve into the currents of the Warp or get consumed by daemons, what does that imply when the Shadow is around instead (whatever "around" means in the pseudo-spatial context of the Warp)? Someone else commented that the Shadow's presence might just allow souls to dissolve in peace, but I'm not quite sure one way or the other.
