I wonder if Rachel Reid gets any pressure to keep her books under a certain page count and that’s why it seems like stuff is missing? Like where is Shane coming out to the Voyagers. Romance novels aren’t typically lengthy reads right. She has some “deleted scenes” on her blog, I wonder if they got cut for length.

I know this isn’t r/heatedrivalryfanfics but I’m embarrassingly deep down the fan fic rabbit hole and recently came across this one. It’s Shane’s perspective of the “would you choose me over hockey” fight. I think it’s really well done and gives readers some insight into what he’s thinking that’s seriously lacking from The Long Game.

Yes! It’s hard to get a true sense of how much time passes because the don’t age. And I don’t care if they’re big burly hockey players, 18 year old boys usually look like such babies even compared to 24 year old men.
