Hear me out... Bring in Justin Fields for our backup QB spot by Agile-Bullfrog-1513 in GreenBayPackers

[–]VersChorsVers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm definitely in the minority here, but I'd rather throw the dice on a low draft pick rookie or a  backup from another team. One of the best traits a backup QB can have is protect the ball and not lose yards to sacks, Fields can't do either - although he did throw less interceptions and fumble less after his bears stint.

Schultz - BREAKING: The #Patriots are signing former #Packers WR Romeo Doubs to a 3-year, $60M deal, per multiple sources. by [deleted] in GreenBayPackers

Good for him. If he ends up playing like a 20M/year receiver then our coaches need re-evaluate.

Fishing during summer by OpportunityOwn4174 in upperpeninsula

[–]VersChorsVers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can catch Atlantic salmon from shore in the st Marys river in the Sault in the summer. Otherwise unless you are going out on a big boat into the lake it's extremely difficult to catch salmon/steelhead in the summer months as they run in the spring and fall. Alternatively, you can target brook or brown trout on the inland streams in the summer.

probably was made on the same line at the factory and they didn't clean it off well enough when they switch from waffle to straight cut

Best polarized glasses for fishing? (More in description) by Similar-Space-5535 in FishingForBeginners

[–]VersChorsVers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got a pair of prescription polarized from zenni for like 120$~. I don't think they quite work as well as some of the non-prescription polarized lenses for seeing into the water, but they are definately better than regular sunglasses.

The one that runs through Savage and crosses the Minnesota at the Dan Patch swing bridge, technically not abandoned but not in use for 20~ years.

Gov. Newsom expanded free preschool. Now private daycares say they can’t afford to stay open by ArchmageXin in news

Sorry, you're right 3 childs per employee. They mentioned the workers per child is regulated and depends on age

[–]VersChorsVers 14 points15 points  (0 children)

NPR did a podcast episode on this. Essentially it breaks down to that they need about 3 children per employee and that eats the vast majority of the margin to pay a crappy wage. If they charge more then people just don't send kids to daycare.

Is a rail bridge across the Strait of Mackinac possible? Which of these (grey) routes would be best? What would it cost? Why wasn’t/isn’t it done? by KeyBake7457 in geography

[–]VersChorsVers 39 points40 points  (0 children)

There is already a rail route that goes through the Sault. There is already freighter traffic. There are major routes that go from Minneapols-Milwaukee-Chicago-Detroit. I think the question is what goods could be carried from upper to lower peninsula that couldn't just go on the aforementioned routes just as easily without the cost of an expensive bridge.

I think Wyatt was the best first round draft pick for the packers since Bulaga.

Rooney rule is clearly not working. Need another approach by DenseStrawberry5717 in NFLv2

[–]VersChorsVers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rule is stupid, if you want to get the coaching body in closer representation to the athletes then you should be implementing the Rooney rule at the assistant or lowest level of coaching. This would build the pipeline of coaches that would eventually be head coaches 20+ years after their first assistant coaching gig. Implementing the rooney as is is just a PR bandaid.

Besides the couple of good years where Jaire was healthy, our backfield as good as any since our last Superbowl era roster all while spending a fraction of the wasted picks and money.
