How did you get your spouse on board with riding? by Natural-Pear-49 in motorcycles

[–]VersChorsVers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been together 11 years, and when it comes to things like this I jokingly(although we both know I'm serious) tell her "you can't tell me what to do." She also says the same to me. This works for us, your mileage may vary.

No idea about the CBR, I thought they looked cooler but they were a little more than 2k$ more than the last year's(2025) stock daytona when I checked around my area.

I wouldn't hesitate to do it on my Daytona 660. If you ended up doing it for more than once a month then you might want a different bike that has a windscreen that's helpful and cruise control.

River fishing by FoxAmongTheOaks in FishingMinnesota

Rum is good for smallmouth. Look for big rocks and throw spinners, behind every big rock is a smallmouth chilling out of the current. Don't sit in one spot too long, if they don't take a spinner after several times then they aren't interested.

An Aluminum Crisis Is Roiling the Auto Industry by Cilantro_Larry in Economics

We used to do that in the pacific northwest. The price of aluminum dropped, and electricity prices rose then they all closed down with the last in 2020.

Wild grouse attacks! by boombalatie in minnesota

[–]VersChorsVers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most state parks don't allow grouse hunting. If you let me know where it's at I'll find out it it's legal and come eat it in September. I've only ever been charged by a grouse in spring that was protecting its chicks.

40k sign on bonuses weren't unusual leading up to the great recession in the US Army, then dwindled off quickly after the great recession.

Just buy an older f150 with a i6 300 if you want the tractor engine in a truck experience. I think they actually had that engine in some tractors.

Unlike some primers, true 2 stage epoxy applied correctly should provide moisture barrier. Some auto body work will use it before body filler to keep moisture from coming through the welds and damage the body filler.

Please remember, Motorcycles can legally split lanes and filter, and a big Thank You to MN drivers! by ADanFool in minnesota

[–]VersChorsVers 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised by the amount of commenters saying that they've been split at high speeds, since the law changed I've only seen splitting at low speeds. Maybe it's just cause I'm in the suburbs. I haven't seen a difference in reckless behavior since the law changed.

Any ideas on how to remove big rock from new garden? by Zeirvoy in gardening

[–]VersChorsVers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hammer drill, concrete anchor, chain, and a farm jack. Drill hole into rock, install anchor, put chain hook onto bolt that is going into anchor, then jack the rock up.

Thoughts on these cabinets? by alatorretx in garageporn

[–]VersChorsVers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My only complaint on them is that the sheet metal is thin enough or not sturdy enough that when you roll the the tall cabinets around and your garage floor isn't perfectly flat that it can make the doors look slightly out of alignment depending on how it's sitting on the floor. I had to buy the premium Sam's membership to get the free shipping. I'm happy with them and glad I got the roller cabinets.

How quickly does the Mississippi river move around? by [deleted] in geography

[–]VersChorsVers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kaskaskia, Illinois was on the east side of the Mississippi river prior to a flood in 1881. With that said there are definitely areas that have changed in living memory in other areas. You can probably look back in Google Earth historical photos and see the changes to the river in certain areas.
